When Annie's husband John dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow Women's Institute members to pose nude with them for an "alternative" calendar, with a little help from hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence. The news of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. The calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie's friendship is put to the test under the strain of their newfound fame.

Based on the true story of eleven WI members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest-selling play in British theatre history.

Cast Spotlight!

Andrea Bradford as

Cora

is a native of Broken Arrow, OK and lives in Hart County, GA with her husband, Brian, twelve year old son, Colton, and ten year old daughter, Chloe. She graduated from Vanderbilt University and is a financial advisor with Bradford & Legg Wealth Management. She is the president of Savannah River Productions. Her favorite place to be is playing keyboards, but also loves acting and directing. Her favorite role is June in Smoke on the Mountain

A little about her character:

Cora's past is the most eclectic, her horizons broadened by having gone to college.  She is the joker in the pack, but ever plays the fool.  She is the organist for the church.

Rebecca Holliday as Celia

Rebecca is the executive director for the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce.  She has appeared onstage in Elberton, Georgia as Annelle in Steel Magnolias, Mrs. McCarthy in The Best Little Christmas Pageant Ever, June Sanders in Smoke on the Mountain and Sanders Family Christmas, Audrey Williams in Hank Williams: Lost Highway, and most recently made her stage debut with Savannah River Productions in Camelot. She is currently training for her fourth half marathon, and enjoys spending time on Lake Russell and making items for her booth at Home Sweet Home Elberton.

About her character:

Celia is more at home in a department store than church.  She has landed in Yorkshire with her husband who has the disease called "golf".  She defected from the Royal golf club to be a member of the WI.

Rebecca Howard as  Ruth

A Stephens County High School teacher by day and a theatre artist by night. She delights in designing and constructing properties, scenery, and costumes: she revels in singing and dancing; and she relishes playing character roles. It’s a good thing she likes theater so much since she’s married to Seth Howard.  Rebecca recently played the Ugly Duckling in Shrek the Musical, a Squirellette in Piggie’s and Elephant: We are in a Play, and was Morgan LeFey in Camelot  with SRP.

About her character:

Ruth is easy to please but is not a rag doll, and despite being Marie's right hand woman she is desperate to be the cartilage in the spine of the WI and keep everyone happy.
