AMTA Wants to Hear From You!
AMTA House of Delegates meets to discuss policy changes and bylaws.
Comment period open to recommend changes on key issues in our massage therapy profession!

As an AMTA professional member, you have a voice in crafting our association policies and bylaws. Click here to read more about this year's position statements and recommendations:
  • Portability of Massage Licenses and Certifications
  • Massage for Health and Wellness
  • Therapeutic Massage for Burn Scars
After reviewing these statements, email your comments by September 12 to our Chapter Delegate Jaime Bernardo, jaimerbernardo[at]gmail.com. Deadline is Sept. 12. Comments on position statements and recommendations may be used to represent our chapter's voice when the initiatives are discussed and voted on at the convention. Let DC be heard!
Events
NMTAW 2013 at Farragut Square
We know the benefits of massage -- let's educate the public & have fun doing it!

AMTA-DC Chapter sponsors events throughout the year to promote and educate massage therapists and the general public about the benefits of massage.

AMTA National Convention - Sept. 17-20, 2014
Join us in Denver, Colorado for the national convention, where we engage with our AMTA community, connect with leaders of our profession and thrive in a word-class learning environment.

"Self-care as an Ethical Practice" Continuing EducationOct. 17 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
AMTA-DC Chapter is pleased to sponsor this continuing education opportunity for members and non-members alike. Connie Ridgway, Licensed Massage Therapist and Licensed Social Worker, will lead interactive discussions of how all ethical dilemmas can be seen in light of better therapist self-care. Registration costs are $10/$15 for AMTA members/non-members. This NCTMB-approved provider course awards 3 CEUs and meets ethics requirements for licensing. Registration now open!

In 2013, NMTAW events around the country reached over 100 million people.  In DC, we staged a "flash massage" in Farragut Square -- check out this YouTube video of the event. This year we're planning bigger and better events. What ideas do you have for NMTAW 2014?
