From the Desk of the Superintendent
Dear CUSD Team,

Congratulations to Ms. Hortencia Armendariz for being selected by Molina Healthcare as a 2019 Community Champion!! The Community Champions Award was created to honor and bring together people whose leadership and volunteerism embody the spirit of service and community. This award is a great honor and recognizes Mrs. Armendariz' commitment to CUSD and our community through her many, many acts of kindness. Kudos to our Mighty CHS Drumline and CHS Cadets for representing CUSD proudly at the awards recognition celebration.

Thank you to the Calexico Educational Foundation for the Teacher Mini-Grants awarded to our staff! Ms. Guadalupe Espino, Spanish Teacher at CHS received $1,000. Ms. Eva Lara, Clinical Social Worker at the FRC received $1,400. Ms. Maria Martija, 4th Grade Teacher at Kennedy Gardens received $460 and Mr. Samuel Gutierrez, Counselor at Dool received $700. The awards were presented to our staff at the board meeting held on Thursday, October 24th.

Parent Training on Anti-Bullying, Drug Awareness & Sexting/Social Media. The training will be provided by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Homeland Security. The training will be held on November 15, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the FRC CAP Center. Please help us spread the word on this great training opportunity!
