El Camino College Receives Almost $3 Million from the US Department of Education Title V: Developing Hispanic-serving Institutions Program

CC congratulates El Camino College for receiving the Title V, Developing Hispanic-serving Institution Program in the amount of $2,933,714 from the US Department of Education. This grant will be disbursed over a 5-year period.

 

El Camino will use the funds from the 5-year Title V grant for WINGS – a program that will offer holistic support services to Hispanic (and other low-income) students as well as professional development to select faculty. The goal is to increase the performance of Hispanic students at the college.

California Consulting CEO Invited to Speak at APWA Regional Conference

California Consulting Inc. CEO Steve Samuelian was invited to present to the American Public Works Association (APWA) Southern California chapter on Sept. 27, 2023. The two-day session was held in Downey and was attended by 52 Public Works Directors, Assistant Directors, City Engineers, and other public works leaders from throughout the Southern California region.


Samuelian's presentation featured a PowerPoint discussing grant writing "best practices" and how to secure federal and state grant awards. The presentation focused on how to write competitive federal and state grant applications and Cal. Consulting's 20-year track record of writing successful grants for major public works projects.

EPA: Clean School Bus Rebate Program

Deadline: January 31st, 2024

Amount: A CSB rebate is a payment from EPA to an eligible entity to subsidize the purchase of one or more ZE or clean school buses, and eligible infrastructure, that meet the requirements described in this Program Guide. Importantly, rebates allow selectees to receive awarded funds before purchasing the eligible buses, infrastructure, and other expenses listed in their rebate application; however, buses and associated infrastructure must be purchased after notification of a rebate award. Fleets are also required to replace existing buses by the end of the project period, although there can be overlap between receiving replacement buses and replacing existing buses.
