2019 LC to DC Delegation with Congresswoman Jackie Speier
By all accounts, the 2019 LC to DC event (Leadership California Goes to Washington), Sept. 22–25 at the Mayflower Hotel was a tremendous success and received rave reviews by the 40 delegates who participated.  

Amazing presentations were featured by Susan Page, Washington Bureau Chief, USA Today; Allida Black, Professor, George Washington University; Noelia Rodriguez, Chief of Staff, Metrolink; Lyndsey Ford, Brookings Institute; and a panel on “Advocacy in America.” Delegates were treated with a special evening at the beautiful and historic Mexican Cultural Institute including a fantastic reception and empowering remarks by Ambassador Martha Bárcena.

LEADERSHIP CALIFORNIA PRESENTS AT 32ND ANNUAL CENTRAL CALIFORNIA WOMEN'S CONFERENCE
Leadership California was both a sponsor and workshop presenter during the 32nd Annual Central California Women’s Conference held Sept. 17 in Fresno. More than 3,800 women from around the Central Valley attended the conference. 

Leadership California’s workshop titled, “Become the Leader You Were Meant to Be,” attracted a standing room only audience of 300. Dr. Felicia Haecker (’18), presented the topic at hand and spoke about the impact of LC’s California Issues and Trends Program on her life and career. The workshop received top ratings from attendees.

2020 CIT RECRUITMENT UNDERWAY!
CALLING ALL WOMEN LEADERS
Leadership California has launched recruitment for the year-long 2020 California Issues & Trends (CIT) Program. CIT is the centerpiece of Leadership California’s program offerings that brings together each year up to 60 diverse women across regions, sectors, professions and backgrounds to build knowledge, make connections and be inspired to ACT!

Applications are due November 15, 2019. All selections will be made by December 30, 2019 for the Class of 2020. This is a tuition-based program set at $5,200 per participant (after January 1, 2020, $5,500).  Travel/hotel not included.

Christina Bibler (’17) – Promoted to Director of Economic Development, City of San Diego. Christina brings nearly 20 years of experience in community and economic development to the position, joining the City in 2016 as Program Manager.

2019 CIT SESSION IV SET FOR
OCT. 27-29 AT THE OMNI HOTEL - SAN DIEGO
Details are being finalized for the upcoming CIT Session IV in San Diego. The theme for the program, “A Thriving California through Inspiration & Innovation.” This is the final session for the 2019 CIT Class. We will celebrate their graduation at a special luncheon with alumnae and potential 2020 CIT candidates on Oct. 29 at the Central Library in San Diego.
