During these extremely difficult times, our hearts go out to all of those affected by the fires throughout the state of California. For those who have been displaced by the fires, you can visit The American Red Cross for emergency services help or to locate a shelter .

If you are experiencing a financial hardship due to an emergency, property loss, or another urgent money issue created as a result of the fires, WPCCU can help. We’ll work with you to provide disaster relief so that you can access your accounts with replacement debit and credit cards, or emergency cash from a local branch or Service Center. In addition, we offer special services available through our financial partner, BALANCE:

  • BALANCE’s Financial Relief Hotline – (888) 262-4327
  • Personalized counseling. BALANCE financial counselors are experts when it comes to dealing with fallout from a natural disaster. Whether you need to establish a budget after a crisis, recover from losing a home, or contact creditors, one-on-one personalized assistance is available.
  • Priority-caller status. If you’ve been impacted by the fires, you will receive priority status when calling BALANCE. Calls will be expedited to the front of the queue so that assistance can be provided right away. 
  • Additional resources are also available through the California Department of Insurance where you'll have access to insurance claim forms and guides to assist with your recovery efforts.
  • Consider applying for financial aid through FEMA. You may qualify for a grant and/or a low-interest-rate disaster loan to help with the replacement of your primary residence.
  • DisasterAssistance.gov. You can begin your recovery process here.
