California’s AB 1127: A Backdoor Striker-Fired Handgun Ban


In early October, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1127 (AB 1127), reclassifying many striker-fired handguns as “machinegun-convertible pistols” — a change that effectively bans their sale under existing state law due to their potential for illegal modification to fully automatic fire.
