The Message this Week

Preaching Text: John 3:1-21

How much does God love the world? To anyone who has seen the 'John 3:16' guy in the end zone, you have seen part of this week's passage that has been boiled down to the essential nature of the Gospel. Putting it back in its context and exploring it's original language may give us some new insights that will help enrich our understanding of the essential nature of the Gospel.

Mighty God, You loved the world enough to send Your Son, Jesus.  Help us to not just believe in Him with our thinking, but trust, hope, have faith, and live out of that Love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

What does it mean to believe in something?

As we begin the process of calling an associate pastor, the Call Committee has created a brief, two question survey for the congregations input. The survery will close on January 31. Click HERE to complete the survey. Please note that this is best completed from a computer or tablet. If you choose to do it from your phone, you may have to turn it sideways.

You can contact the Call Committee with questions at callcommittee@genevalutheran.org.

• Loving God, shed light on all the corners of our lives, and make us honest to bring our whole selves to you.
• Open our eyes to the wonders of this world, and humble us to be taught by all of nature, that we might learn respect and responsibility.
• Open the minds and hearts of all who lead to the differing ideas and needs of all people, that they would find creative solutions to difficult problems, for the benefit of all involved.
• Bless our lives and our loved ones with your healing presence.
• Join us with all the saints of every age, in your eternal communion where light shines perpetually.

With confidence in your mercy, we lift these prayers and those of our hearts into your care, through Jesus Christ our light and our life. Amen.
