Open Call for 2015 HRC North Carolina Gala Fellowships & Silent Auction

CHARLOTTE -- The Human Rights Campaign North Carolina Gala is now accepting Fellowship nominations for the  2015 Gala, scheduled for February 21, 2015 at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Apply for a Fellowship

HRC North Carolina is committed to the involvement of a broadly representative population of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people and our straight allies in North Carolina. The 2015 HRC North Carolina Gala Dinner Committee invites those with limited income who would not otherwise be able to attend the dinner without financial assistance to apply for a Fellowship to attend the Gala.

Criteria for Dinner Fellowship:

  • Completed Gala Fellowship Application
  • Commitment to the HRC mission to build an America where LGBT families and individuals can be open, honest and safe at work, at home and in the community.
  • Current resident of North Carolina
  • Willingness to volunteer for local HRC organizing and further outreach efforts
  • Demonstration of limited income status

Please complete this application as soon as possible for consideration. Fellowships will be granted on an on-going basis until the designated allotment has been filled or until February 2015, whichever is sooner.

Be Part of the Silent Auction

Fellow HRC members, Chad Barringer and Glen Powell, are heading up the efforts to have the biggest, best, and most successful silent auction that the HRC North Carolina Gala has ever seen in its 20 year history!

They are actively soliciting donations for the auction. In the past donations have included items as diverse as furniture, art, gift cards to restaurants/salons, vacation home rentals and even professional services (like prepaid legal, movers, or professional photography).  Also, if you have tickets to sporting events, the theater, etc. and you would like to donate seats to a game or show, those are great, too!  The committee isn't choosy!

This is a fantastic opportunity to support an organization that, as a member, you're already a believer.  Also, by making a donation you are exposing your business or organization to more than 1,000 like-minded individuals that actively seek equality-friendly businesses.  For donations with a value greater than $500, you are eligible for ad space in the program book at no additional cost!

If you would like more information about how to give or if you know of someone that may be able to make a donation, please email Chad and Glen at silentauction@hrccarolina.org.  You can also donate directly at the gala website: http://www.hrccarolina.org/gala/auction/.
