Exhibition Overview
Each Providence Art Club Exhibiting Artist Member may submit one artwork to the Winter Members’ Exhibition 2022. Works in all media are welcome. Works may be no larger than 42" in any direction, including the frame. All works must be available for purchase, with the Art Club taking 25% commission. Work must be recent and not previously shown in a members’ exhibition. All submissions must be original and may not utilize published photographs. Giclee prints or other reproductions of original artworks are not acceptable.

Works must be properly prepared for installation. Works on paper must be framed and works on canvas should be framed or presented on gallery wrapped canvas with a finished edge. Works must be securely wired with D-Rings. If your work requires an alternative hanging system it must be approved by the gallery manager in advance. Please do not deliver paintings that are still wet to the touch to the gallery.

Artists must complete in full our special online entry form before dropping off the work. Please also label the back of your submission with your name and the title before dropping off. If you have questions about this show, please do not hesitate to email Michael Rose.
About the Awards Judge:
Lucy Fernandez
Director of Gangway Gallery, Newport
Lucy Fernandez is Director of Newport's Gangway Gallery, a contemporary space on Bellevue Avenue dedicated to exhibiting work by emerging artists. Prior to relocating to Newport, Lucy held positions at several of New York City's most renowned galleries. She served as a Gallery Assistant at Galerie Lelong from 2015 - 2017, and then as a Sales Assistant from 2017 - 2020. From 2020 - 2021, she served as a Sales Assistant at Hauser & Wirth. Prior to these positions, Lucy also completed internships with Leila Heller Gallery in New York and Faggionato Fine Art in London.

Lucy earned her BA with honors from Brown University in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics as well as in History of Art and Architecture. While at Brown she was Editor of the Fracture Art Journal and Senior Editor of the Brown Classical Journal. She then completed her MA in Contemporary Art History with distinction at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. She additionally participated in an 8 week intensive program in Italian Studies via Middlebury College.

We are thrilled to welcome an emerging gallery professional of Lucy's caliber to select award-winners in this exhibition!

Eligibility: Open to Exhibiting Artist Members only, one submission per artist.
 
Size: Size limit is 42” x 42”, including the frame. Three-dimensional work may not exceed 42" in any direction, and may not weigh more than 100lbs.

Preparation:
Artworks must be properly and professionally prepared for installation. Works on paper must be framed and under glass. Works presented on canvas should be framed or must be displayed on gallery wrapped canvas. Works must be wired securely with D-Rings. If you feel a different hanging apparatus is more appropriate for your work, you must have it approved in advance by the gallery manager. Paintings that are wet to the touch will not be accepted.
 
Delivery of Work: 
Sunday, January 16 and Tuesday - Thursday, January 18 - 20. Note that the Club is closed on Monday, January 17 for Presidents Day. The final day to drop off is Thursday, January 20! Works must be checked in with a member of the gallery staff. Do not leave your work unattended at the Club. All artists must fill out the online entry form before drop off and must label the back of their work with their name and the title of the piece in advance. We have permanently discontinued use of paper entry forms in the gallery. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Artwork Publicity Images:
Artists are not required to submit a JPEG of their work as we will not produce a catalogue for this exhibition. If you would like to have a photo of your work considered for inclusion in publicity, please email a good quality JPEG file labeled with your name to [email protected]. The earlier the better! Art Club staff are not available to photograph artwork.

Packing Material:
If your packing material is precious to you, please take it home at time of drop off. We have very limited storage and will dispose of any packing materials left on site. If a work is particularly fragile and needs to remain packed until installation, please inform the gallery manager and he will accommodate you.

Removal of Work:
February 14 - 18, weekdays 12-4pm. Works left on site after February 18 will become subject to a storage fee of $5 per day, charged to your PAC account.

Insurance:
The Art Club carries a blanket policy covering fire and theft, but not breakage. The insurance value is considered 2/3 of the sale price, but no entry is insured for more than $250. We strongly encourage artists to provide their own insurance.

The Art Club reserves the right to reject works that are improperly prepared or that otherwise do not meet our standards at the discretion of the gallery manager.
