About the ACEP Council

The ACEP Council is a deliberative body that meets annually to vote on resolutions, elect ACEP’s Board of Directors, and propose changes to ACEP’s Bylaws. Councillors represent ACEP’s 53 chapters, sections of membership, and affiliate organizations.

FCEP is allocated one (1) councillor plus an additional councillor for every 100 members. Councillors serve a 2-year term and may run for re-election.

Alternate Councillors

Applicants not elected as councillors may serve as alternate councillors, filling in if a councillor is unable to attend a meeting. If a councillor resigns or is elected to an ACEP office, the remaining councillors will select an alternate to complete the term.
