Professor Baloglu is a professor and department chair of Hospitality Management at the Harrah College of Hospitality Management. He has published more than 110 peer-reviewed papers primarily on customer and casino loyalty, image development and branding, and sustainability that have been cited more than 22,000 times across multiple fields and disciplines. Professor Baloglu has also co-authored 3 books/textbooks on strategic marketing in hospitality and tourism, and is a recipient of numerous prestigious research, as well as teaching awards, in hospitality and tourism. He is a nationally and internationally recognized scholar who has consistently been named one of the significant contributors to hospitality and tourism literature. Professor Baloglu has received grants and contracts on consumer behavior, predictive modeling via data mining, image and branding, and sustainability practices that are funded by hotels, airports, gaming corporations, destinations, and supply chain organizations His research has provided implications for enhancing destination image and branding, improving visitors experiences, and cultivating brand engagement and loyalty.
