Join Us At The 100th Annual Kitsap County Fair and Stampede

This year marks 100 years of the county fair and as usual, we will be there to share Kitsap history and represent our museum! We need 3-4 volunteers per shift to cover the pole barn from August 23-27. Volunteers will receive a parking pass and admission ticket for each shift worked.

Morning and afternoon shifts are 4 hours. Evening shift is 3 hours.

If you haven't volunteered at the barn before, it's a great opportunity to learn more about Kitsap's rural history, meet other volunteers, and connect with the community (plus the scones vendor is very close to the barn!).

Volunteers are the heart of our presence at the fair. THANK YOU ALL

for sharing the gift of your time and knowledge.

We quite literally could not do this without you!

A Typical Pole Barn/Fair Shift
New to the Pole Barn? No problem! A typical shift at the barn is 3-4 hours. You can sit if you prefer or walk around the barn, check out the artifacts, and interact with visitors. The barn has two entrances and we cover each entrance to greet people as they walk in.

The atmosphere is casual and fun. We take breaks as needed and talk history with visitors (and each other!).

Barn Volunteer packets are on-site at all times, and at least one seasoned volunteer or staff member will be present for each shift.

If you have additional questions, please contact Jeanine at curator@kitsapmuseum.org.
