The City of Long Beach
14th Annual Bike & Pedestrian Count is here!
Volunteers are invited to collect data on:

Thursday, October 21, 2021
7:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Saturday, October 23, 2021
12:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Those interested can choose from 36 locations throughout
Long Beach to volunteer their time.

The count, which includes bicycles, pedestrians, and scooters, provides key metrics to the City regarding safety, capacity, ridership trends, and the value of the City’s investments. The goal is to gather consistent data from year to year to evaluate the effectiveness of projects so that the City can improve the safety and livability of the community.

Alongside the City’s investment in expanding its network of bikeways, Long Beach has experienced dramatic increases in ridership. The 36 sites are located at upcoming and recently completed project routes such as: Broadway, Pacific Ave, 15th Street, Queensway Dr, Anaheim St, and Obispo Ave. Each location has been identified for safety improvements as well as sites that the City has previously counted in the past.

Volunteers can register by visiting the website or by calling the Public Works Transportation Mobility Bureau at (562) 570-6367 from Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Hope to see you there!
