Dear CSLA Members,

The CSLA is looking for one volunteer for the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education Standards Committee (LA CES) Application Review Committee.

The LA CES is a program sponsored by key landscape architecture organizations to establish, maintain, and enforce standards for evaluating professional development and continuing education programs for landscape architects. LA CES is administered through the collaboration of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA – which provides staffing and overhead); the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA); the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA); the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB); the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB); and the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF).

LA CES governance includes an Administrative Committee, an Application Review Committee, and a Monitoring Committee. The CSLA currently requires a representative for the Appliation Review Committee. The term is for three years and is renewable.

Charge and Responsibility

The Application Review Committee will:  

• review all applications received for completeness and qualification under LA CES criteria for approved provider status; 
• contact applicants if clarification of information is needed; and 
• make a determination for acceptance, deferral, or denial within thirty (30) business days of receipt.

Time Commitment

• Review approximately 1-2 applications per week @ 15 minutes each
• Applications typically received on a weekly basis (35-40 weeks out of the year, circulated on Thursday afternoons)

L'AAPC est à la recherche d'un bénévole pour le Comité d'examen des demandes du Comité des normes de formation continue en architecture de paysage (LA CES).

Le LA CES est un programme soutenu par les principales organisations en architecture de paysage afin d'établir, de maintenir et d'appliquer des normes pour l'évaluation du développement professionnel et des programmes de formation continue pour les architectes paysagistes. La gouvernance du LA CES comprend un comité administratif, un comité d'examen des candidatures et un comité de suivi. L'AAPC a besoin d'un représentant pour le comité d'examen des candidatures. Le mandat est de trois ans et est renouvelable.

La commission d'examen des candidatures est chargée de  

• examiner toutes les demandes reçues pour s'assurer qu'elles sont complètes et qu'elles répondent aux critères du LA CES pour l'obtention du statut de prestataire agréé ; 
• contacter les candidats si des clarifications sont nécessaires ; et
• prendre une décision d'acceptation, de remise ou de refus dans les trente (30) jours ouvrables suivant la réception de la demande.

Temps consacré

• Examiner environ 1 à 2 demandes par semaine, à raison de 15 minutes par demande.
• Les candidatures sont généralement reçues sur une base hebdomadaire (35-40 semaines par an, diffusées le jeudi après-midi).
