Dear CSLA Members,
The CSLA is looking for one volunteer for the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education Standards Committee (LA CES) Application Review Committee.
The LA CES is a program sponsored by key landscape architecture organizations to establish, maintain, and enforce standards for evaluating professional development and continuing education programs for landscape architects. LA CES is administered through the collaboration of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA – which provides staffing and overhead); the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA); the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA); the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB); the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB); and the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF).
LA CES governance includes an Administrative Committee, an Application Review Committee, and a Monitoring Committee. The CSLA currently requires a representative for the Appliation Review Committee. The term is for three years and is renewable.
Charge and Responsibility
The Application Review Committee will:
- review all applications received for completeness and qualification under LA CES criteria for approved provider status;
- contact applicants if clarification of information is needed; and
- make a determination for acceptance, deferral, or denial within thirty (30) business days of receipt.
Time Commitment
- Review approximately 1-2 applications per week @ 15 minutes each
- Applications typically received on a weekly basis (35-40 weeks out of the year, circulated on Thursday afternoons)
