Scouting For Food is an annual community-wide food collection orchestrated by Scouts from the National Capital Area Council.
This is UCM's largest single-day community food drive. In 2017, we received 12,000+ pounds -- the equivalent of more than 12 "average" single-day grocery store food drives!
How does Scouting For Food Happen for 2018?
On Sat., Nov. 3, local Cub Scouts will distribute Door Tags publicizing this year's collection date as a reminder to area residents across the region.
Then, on the morning of Sat., Nov. 10, Scouts return to neighborhoods to pick up your plastic bags, now filled with food donations from community members like you. Collected food is delivered that day by the Scouts to UCM and other local food pantries.
