  • Speak out at this Wednesday: Budget & Finance Committee, February 6, 10 AM, City Hall, Room 120 – email us or sign up to let us know you’ll be there
  • Write a letter to your Supervisor and Mayor
  • Write a letter to the editor

Budget & Finance Committee: Why is your public comment important?

There will be a lot of representatives from other groups seeking windfall funds at this
week’s Budget & Finance Committee meeting. ECESF is working with CPAC to rally at
least 20 ECE community supporters to make an impact at this meeting. Join us!
We know it is difficult to get to City Hall for public speak out — but this meeting is
critical. We encourage you to be creative about speaking for ECE (bring notes from other
teachers or families to read to the committee, bring children). If you are planning to
attend please  sign up and we can coordinate our advocacy efforts!

detailed email about how to send letters with ECESF’s sample letters and address links.

Highlights of ECESF’s January 25 ECE Issues Luncheon:

  • Read the press release from ECESF and Children's Council.
  • Featured presentation by Lea Austin, Co-director, Center for the Study of Child Care Employees.
  • Early educators speak to Supervisors Mandelman, Safai, Walton, President of the Board Yee, and Education Advisor to Mayor’s Office and Board of Education Commissioner, Jenny Lam, and representatives from Supervisors Ronen’s and Haney’s office.
