Thank you to all the family physicians who have called their legislators about the Scope of Practice issue. Your calls are making a difference!

REMINDER: The Senate has adjourned and they are on their way home. Over the weekend, please call Senators on the Public Health Committee and share your concerns. VOLUME OF CALLS IS OUR GOAL AT THIS POINT.

LEGISLATIVE CALL TO ACTION -
Senate Public Health Committee
Senate Bill 2178, which would increase the scope of practice for mid-level providers, has been introduced and referred to the Senate Public Health Committee.

CONCERNS: Last year a similar bill died in this Senate committee after passing the full House of Representatives. Nurse Practitioners have been very vocal in their calls/messages. The Senate Public Health Committee needs to hear from ALL family physicians.

GOAL: We need all physicians calling all Senate Public Health members this week. SHARE YOUR STORY. What does collaboration mean for YOUR patients?

*It is preferable that you call the member that represents your district or with whom you have a relationship. You don’t have to be best friends, just recognition.

THE ASK: Ask the Public Health committee member if they will tell Chairman Hob Bryan that he/she does not wish for the bill to be voted on this year.

Contact Information: The first number is their office number at the Capitol. If there is a second number listed, it is a number publicly published under their bio page. If you have the cell phone number of the member, please use it!
