I hope everyone had a fabulous summer and didn't overheat too much! I know I've been enjoying the (slightly) cooler weather over the past week. Hopefully it's been more comfortable in your corner of Texas as well. 

Our Call to Action calls are BACK and I can't wait for our fall line-up. As always, I strive to empower the grassroots with actionable information that makes YOU a more effective activist. And we are getting right to work!

First up we have some very talented young women. Many of you know Karen Marshall. She has been an incredible rockstar and leader for our party. She is currently serving as SREC Committeewoman for SD 26 and has worked on an analysis of constitutional amendments on the ballot this November. Karen is going to be sharing her analysis with us and the implications of them passing or failing.

Also joining the call is Caroline Welton, policy analyst for the Government for the People initiative and deputy campaign director for the Right on Healthcare initiative at the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF). She's going to be providing us a recap of the 88th Legislature along with some highlights. There are a lot of very understandable emotions around the recent Texas Legislative session. But, as you know all too well, it can often make it hard to cut through the opinions to get to the facts. That's what Caroline is going to do for us, cut through the clutter and go right to the facts.

Biden's Back To School Failing Grade

The numbers don’t lie, if Biden and Democrats’ failed leadership were to be graded, they’d receive an F. More and more children are falling behind in the classroom. Whether it's draconian lockdowns, bailing out wealthy Americans, or pushing a radical education agenda on our kids, when given the opportunity, Biden and Democrats will always side with left-wing special interests over our students.

What you need to know:

• This fall, parents across the nation are feeling the effects of Bidenflation with prices of nearly all back-to-school necessities on the rise.
• The price of school supplies has increased nearly 24% in the past two years.
• Experts predict this school shopping season could “set a new record for the most expensive one ever.”’
• The price of backpacks alone is up 25%.
• Nearly half of back-to-school shoppers will turn to financing in order to pay for supplies this year according to a survey by CNET Money.
• Under Biden, test scores have plummeted to the lowest levels in decades and hundreds of thousands of children are simply missing from the classroom.
• More than 25% of students – 6.5 million kids – were classified as chronically absent during the 2021-2022 school year because they missed at least 10% of the school year.
• Almost 50% of students in Washington, D.C. have become virtually absent.
• Biden does not have the best interests of America’s children in mind, only the teachers’ unions that donate to him.
• Biden believes that the government should be a child’s parent, and that actual parents should have no say in the matter.
• Republicans are standing up for the rights of parents and families.
• Earlier this year, House Republicans passed the Parents’ Bill of Rights, affirming parents’ right to know what their children are being taught and protect parents’ ability to be involved in their children’s education.
• As Democrats allow CRT to dominate school curriculums, 17 Republican-led states have taken action to ban CRT from being taught in public schools.
• A National Burau of Economic Research analysis shows that 19 of the top 20 states for getting kids back to in-person schooling were led by Republicans. 

The bottom line:

Biden and Democrats’ disastrous education agenda has prioritized left-wing special interests ahead of students and parents, while children across the country are falling behind and missing from the classroom.

Bidenomics Is Crushing Americans

Day-to-day life continues to get more expensive under Joe Biden.

What you need to know:

• Americans are suffering from the lasting effects of Biden’s record-breaking inflation, with many unable to pay bills, save money, or  afford rent.​
• Inflation has risen by 16.9% since Biden took office.
• 61% of Americans report living paycheck-to-paycheck.
• Bidenomics has cost the middle class $2.4 trillion since March 2022.
• The average middle-class household has lost over $33,000 in real wealth in just the past year.
• Americans are increasingly borrowing to cover daily expenses, finding their regular income is no longer enough to make ends meet.
• Credit card balances are above $1 trillion for the first time and household debt is now at an all-time high. 
• Americans are increasingly withdrawing from their retirement savings to make ends meet.
• Additionally, there are 4 million Americans currently working part-time for economic reasons.
• The Fed has hiked interest rates 11 times since March 2022 – now at their highest level in 22 years – making it harder for families to buy a home, finance a car, pay off debt, and perform various other financial transactions.
• Starter home price increases are now outpacing wage gains and home prices just hit record highs in nearly two-thirds of major markets.
• With new vehicle prices near an all-time high, this is now the “least affordable car market in modern history.”
• Meanwhile, Biden is expected to continue his record pacing rate of vacations, caring more about his vacation time than the American people.
• Since taking office, Biden has spent 380 days – 39.9% of his presidency – on vacation.
• This past month alone, Biden spent 19 days on vacation.

The bottom line:

Americans are in desperate need of economic solutions that Republicans up and down the ballot are ready to deliver.
