“Branches at the Carnegie” has received a grant from the Arts Council of Placer County
(ACPC) for art in this lovely backyard space. “Branches at the Carnegie” seeks to
commission an artist(s) to create an entry gate into the backyard. This gate will be the
primary entrance into the backyard and will be visible from the front of the building and
the street. What is desired is a gate that is creative, secure and welcoming for this
multipurpose space.
AlmostFreetoAll, Inc (AFTA) is poised to launch “Branches at the Carnegie” in the fall of
2024, a program providing affordable and accessible hourly rental space within the historic
Carnegie Library building. Its aim is to become an arts, culture and community hub for the
City of Auburn and the region. As part of our initiative, we are refurbishing the backyard to
be one of the five initial rental spaces.
