Centered on Christ…Called to Be Saints…Inspired by St. Joseph
September 2020
Greetings, Brothers!
Don’t you love the month of September – the heat of August is giving way to cooler days and nights and leaves are just beginning to turn. Let’s relish it!

September also is the month when we celebrate Our Blessed Mother’s birth – the dawning of our salvation. It’s a great time to renew or start praying the rosary – such a powerful weapon for our times. Remember that this ministry now hosts a monthly virtual rosary on the first Wednesday of each month so join with other men from our diocese (via Zoom) and together we will help Our Lady once again bring peace to our families and our world and defeat the powers of evil.
During this month, please take time to read Father Jonathan Wilson’s reflection on our Saint of the Month, Robert Bellarmine. What a great quote he has above about charity. And more and more let’s become men of charity – as the old hymn says, “and they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love.” What does charity look like for us - simple acts of dying to self and living for others, especially our spouses and family, the poor and those we encounter in our daily lives.

This month you’ll also begin to hear The Catholic Man’s Minute on St. Gabriel Radio – short power packed messages for men taken from LEAD, a daily devotional from The Fathers of St. Joseph.

And finally, please become regular visitors to our social media pages: Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. There you will see great posts and other resources – all shared to help each of us to better center our lives on Christ and become Saints. See below for links to all of these resources.
History is replete with times when our Church was greatly challenged and we live in just such a time. Church teaching clear – it is we men – husbands, fathers and single guys that are the key to changing the culture, by our own ongoing conversion and the leadership we provide our families. The time is now guys, let’s get after it!

In Jesus and Mary,

Matt Palmer
CMM Board President
To help all of us become saints, our ministry is focused on three initiatives:
1. INSPIRATION AND FORMATION
Through our website as well as our LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook pages, you will begin to see some new offerings. These include:
Our Live Virtual Rosary – Prayer is where we begin the journey to sainthood and the Rosary is a powerful means to draw down many graces from Our Blessed Mother. Please join men from all over the diocese who will be gathering virtually on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 a.m. to pray the rosary. More information and a Zoom link can be found on our website and our Facebook page. We hope you can join us!

Our Saint of the Month – Our ministry’s spiritual director, Father Wilson, is sharing with us each month the life of an inspiring saint via blog and/or video. So stay tuned and join us as we invite some of the Church’s greatest Saints to inspire and intercede for us. September's featured saint is Robert Bellarmine.

The Catholic Man’s Minute – Produced by us in cooperation with St. Gabriel Radio and Fathers of Saint Joseph, be sure and stay tuned to 820 AM for a weekly power packed one minute message for Catholic men.
Saint of the Month: Robert Bellarmine
2. SUPPORT AND RESOURCES FOR FAITH SHARING
We will continue to help you establish or join men’s faith sharing groups at your parish or wherever you want to meet with other Catholic men. Studies confirm that when Catholic men gather together for regular fellowship, prayer and study, our faith in Christ and His Church grows and we advance on the path to sainthood.
3. ANNUAL CATHOLIC MEN'S CONFERENCE
Mark your calendar for Saturday morning, February 27 from 9:00am to Noon for our 2021 Catholic Men’s Conference. Under the direction of Conference Director Peter Krajnak, this year’s conference planning team is designing a pre-recorded virtual conference featuring a number of great speakers, including Bishop Brennan. Speakers will be announced soon but for now, mark your calendars and start inviting other guys to mark theirs. And because it’s virtual, you can include family and friends from all over the country to join you.

Many of our parishes will be broadcasting the conference that morning so that guys can gather in their parish or nearby parishes for fellowship and discussion. Stay tuned for further details and please keep the conference, potential speakers and the planning team in your prayers.
“The 2021 Catholic Men’s Conference has the potential to reach so many more men that we have in the past. In previous years, the Conference was limited by the number of seats that we could set up at the Ohio Expo Center. With the format of the 2021 Conference being a 3 hour video that will be streamed on the morning of February 27, 2021, we now have the opportunity to connect with an unlimited number of men throughout Ohio and beyond.” - Peter Krajnak
