Centered on Christ…Called to Be Saints…Inspired by St. Joseph
Inaugural Edition • August 2020
Greetings, Brothers!
Welcome to Called & Sent, a new monthly newsletter from Catholic Men’s Ministry (CMM). Its purpose is to keep you up to date on this ministry and how we can best serve all of you, the great Catholic men of the Diocese of Columbus.

CMM’s mission is audacious: to help every Catholic man in the Diocese of Columbus become a saint. St. Irenaeus put it powerfully, “the glory of God is man fully alive!” That’s sainthood my brothers – becoming fully alive and becoming all that God intended us to be.
Pursuing sainthood is an adventure that none of us should miss out on, so whether you’re 18 or 108, single, married, divorced or widowed, know that this ministry is for you! And to help us on that adventure, we’ve taken St. Joseph as our special intercessor and example. A humble, courageous man who lived the roles of father and husband with heroic virtue, St. Joseph can inspire all of us, in whatever station of life, to be men after God’s own heart - men of mercy and men who die to ourselves to live for our wives, our families and our greater society. It is men like St. Joseph, that are so needed in the world today and it is men like St. Joseph that we must become.
Brothers, I hope you sense our excitement and how much we want each of you involved. Please join us with your prayers, your support and your encouragement of other men to make the journey to sainthood with you. Together, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!

In Jesus and Mary,

Matt Palmer
CMM Board President
To help all of us become saints, our ministry is focused on three initiatives:
1. INSPIRATION AND FORMATION
Through our website as well as our LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook pages, you will begin to see some new offerings. These include:
Our Live Virtual Rosary – Prayer is where we begin the journey to sainthood and the Rosary is a powerful means to draw down many graces from Our Blessed Mother so please join men from all over the diocese who will be gathering virtually on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 a.m. to pray the rosary. More information and invitations can be found on our website and our Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram pages.

Our Saint of the Month – Our ministry’s spiritual director, Father Jonathan Wilson will be sharing with all of us each month the life of an inspiring saint via blog and/or video. So stay tuned and join us as we invite some of the Church’s greatest Saints to inspire and intercede for us. Our first featured saint will be Maximilian Kolbe.

The Catholic Man’s Minute – Produced by us in cooperation with St. Gabriel Radio and Fathers of Saint Joseph, be sure and stay tuned to 820 AM for a weekly power packed one minute message for Catholic men.
2. SUPPORT AND RESOURCES FOR FAITH SHARING
We will continue to help you establish or join men’s faith sharing groups at your parish or wherever you want to meet with other Catholic men. Studies confirm that when Catholic men gather together for regular fellowship, prayer and study, our faith in Christ and His Church grows and we advance on the path to sainthood.
3. ANNUAL CATHOLIC MEN'S CONFERENCE
Now the largest such conference in the country, you will want to mark your calendar now for Saturday February 27th, 2021. It will be an incredible time of fellowship, formation and inspiration.

We’re excited to announce that our 2021 Men’s Conference Director is Peter Krajnak of St. Catharine Parish. A member of past conference planning teams, Peter is a partner in the architecture firm, Rogers & Krajnak and he and his wife Anne have three adult sons.
“Over the last six years, I have been honored to participate in the Catholic Men’s Conference, initially as part of the St. Catharine host parish team, then as the Conference Facilities/Operations Director. With the support of a talented and dedicated Catholic Men’s Ministry Team, I’m excited to take on the role of Conference Director for the 2021 Catholic Men’s Conference. The upcoming Conference promises to be just as inspiring as past Conferences, yet it will be unique, as we appropriately prepare to potentially connect all Conference participants remotely.” - Peter Krajnak
