The Reverend Scott David Johnson, 64, of Newton, NC, passed peacefully into the arms of our Savior on Monday, November 20, 2023.
Pastor Johnson attended the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was ordained in March of 1987. Pastor Johnson's first congregation was Grace Lutheran in Fairgrove, Michigan. He was then called to St. John's in Conover, North Carolina and has served as their pastor since 1995. Reverend Johnson also served the Southeastern District as a member of the board and as a District Vice President.
Reverend Johnson is survived by his wife Denise, his siblings, children, and grandchildren. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 12:00 noon at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Conover. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, c/o Teen Camp, Sharing Center, or Building Bridge, 2126 St. Johns Church Road NE, Conover, NC 28613.
