Maryknoll Lay Missioners - February 2021 mklm news
Peacebuilding in South Sudan
Now working in a remote part of South Sudan, Gabe Hurrish reports on the work of the Peace Team of Kuron Peace Village, a model village founded by a Catholic bishop. They mediate and build peace by addressing cattle raiding, intertribal conflicts and social issues.
Called to cross boundaries
Ted Miles asks: In this Black History Month, for what do I pray that may help me dismantle the barriers created by racism in my life? During Lent, how might I better recognize the borders that I protect and maintain, perhaps unconsciously?
Love in the midst of struggling
Returned missioner Sheila Matthews served in an innovative health promoter program in the Guatemalan jungle and in health and nutrition programs in El Salvador. She truly embodies the motto "Always a Missioner." Read her story here (also featured in our latest Voices of Compassion issue).
