New Programs Director | Heather Warfield, LMFT
Introducing Calm Waters' new Programs Director, Heather K. Warfield, LMFT. Heather joined the team on August 12 and is responsible for Calm Waters’ center and school grief support groups, the center's divorce support groups, the in-house clinic for individual counseling and outreach programs, such as workplace crisis intervention, grief theory training and community grief workshops. Her past experience includes Sunbeam Family Services, private practice and Public Strategies. Heather is an alumni of  Mizzou  and  Oklahoma State University , has the most adorable goldendoodle in town named Russell, enjoys Koda Crossfit and discovering new craft brews. Welcome Heather!
Back to School with Calm Waters Support Groups
Calm Waters Support Groups
Calm Waters supports children, Adults and families in their grief journey due to death divorce or other significant loss through FREE support groups offered at our center. Here are some of the highlights from our groups, which began August 19:
  • 58 children and adults began Monday evening Grief support groups.
  • 31 children and adults began Thursday evening Divorce support groups.
  • 25 trained support group facilitators volunteer to lead grief & divorce groups.
  • Adults, children and families in grief can join our support groups any time by registering online.

Support Groups in Metro Area Schools
This September, Calm Waters' trained facilitators will begin student support groups for those students, kindergarten through high school, dealing with death, divorce, foster care/adoption, deployment, deportation or incarceration for 60+ OKC metro area schools.

We provide FREE training for parents, grandparents, teachers and counselors who would like to become a support group facilitator for their own school. To learn more, email Jordan Park, assistant programs director.

Jordan Park, LMFT-C, Calm Waters' assistant program director, has been accepted into the National Alliance for Grieving Childrens' Building Resources Workgroup. This nationwide group of 11 thought leaders from seven states meet weekly to collaborate and develop curriculum, tool kits and hands-on activities that will be published and available to help grief centers nationwide serve grieving children. Congrats Jordan!
Under The Big Top | March 6, 2020
You are invited to become an early-bird sponsor of our 7th annual Under The Big Top fundraiser on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the OKC Farmers Public Market. Some organizations have galas, we have a CARNIVAL!


This one-of-a-kind event includes your favorite carnival experiences such as Plinko, Balloon Pop, Hole-in-One, a Punch Wall and Deck of Cards, as well as a live magician, aerialists, stilt-people, a wine pull, a jewelry draw and a live and silent auction. Each game is $10 to $20 to play and game prizes are $10 to $100 gift cards to your favorite OKC businesses. Game cards are available for purchase to play the carnival games, with a 1 in 3 chance to win. Event dress is cocktail and snappy casual!

Calm Waters, a 501c3 nonprofit, is governed by a volunteer board of directors who are responsible for steering the organization toward a sustainable future and oversee the center's activities.
