Caltrain electrification crews have permanently closed parking spaces #322-343 and #412-421 in the southern portion of the Hillsdale Station parking lot in order to construct a paralleling station which will help regulate power to the new electric trains. Parking spaces #344-357 and #390-411, also located in the southern portion of the Hillsdale Station parking lot have been temporarily fenced off in order for crews to install a staging area to support this construction. Caltrain crews will be extending the existing set-out track approximately 500 feet in order to accommodate on-track equipment required for Caltrain Electrification. The current set-out track is between Farley Street and South Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View. Construction will require a staging area for foundation installation, pole installation, construction material and pole delivery and storage as well as for loading and unloading of train cars.
