Caltrain electrification crews have permanently closed parking spaces #322-343 and #412-421 in the southern portion of the Hillsdale Station parking lot in order to construct a paralleling station which will help regulate power to the new electric trains. Parking spaces #344-357 and #390-411, also located in the southern portion of the Hillsdale Station parking lot have been temporarily fenced off in order for crews to install a staging area to support this construction. Caltrain crews will be extending the existing set-out track approximately 500 feet in order to accommodate on-track equipment required for Caltrain Electrification. The current set-out track is between Farley Street and South Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View. Construction will require a staging area for foundation installation, pole installation, construction material and pole delivery and storage as well as for loading and unloading of train cars. Caltrain Electrification crews have permanently closed
parking spaces #421-436, #452-455, and #458-463 in the northern portion of the Sunnyvale Station parking lot in order to construct a paralleling station which will help regulate power to the new electric trains. Parking spaces #437-441, #456-457, and #464-472, also located in the northern portion of the Sunnyvale Station parking lot, will be temporarily fenced off in order for crews to install a staging area to support this construction. Four (4) ADA parking stalls will be temporarily re-located to the north end of the parking lot adjacent to the northern sidewalk ramp. On December 21 through December 27, Caltrain will be working during the day to install rebar at the Traction Power Substation facility and perform grading work at the Paralleling Station facility. Day work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. No work will be conducted on December 24 and 25. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and the field team will work as quietly as possible.
On December 18, 2019, crews began installing temporary shoring near the CEMOF as part of the facility modifications. Metal sheet piles will be installed in the ground to create a wall for a vehicle maintenance pit. Neighbors should expect some noise. This work will happen during daytime weekday work hours (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and is expected to last four weeks.

Caltrain Electrification crews have begun staging materials and equipment between the Santa Clara Station and the College Park Station in San Jose. Construction staging will occur along the Caltrain right-of-way south of the Santa Clara Station. Caltrain has temporarily closed parking spaces #256-269 and #277-290 at the Santa Clara station for crews to stage equipment. The temporary closures will last until late 2019.
