Dear Burlingame residents and El Camino Real users,
Yesterday, Caltrans crews started work on the El Camino Real Roadway Renewal project between Rosedale Ave. and Grove Ave. Unfortunately, this work coincided with the discovery of a petroleum leak nearby that PG&E crews are currently working to repair. The leak has resulted in further road closures. Caltrans is coordinating with the City of Burlingame to alleviate the resulting traffic build-up. We are adding additional flaggers to direct traffic away from residential side streets and we will be putting up additional detour signage to deter drivers from using side streets. Caltrans will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates as soon as we have them. We thank drivers and residents for their patience as we work to lessen the impacts of this project.
The authorized detours are:
Heading southbound
Drivers should turn left on Rosedale Ave., right on California Dr., right on Grove Ave., and left on El Camino Real.
Heading northbound
Drivers should turn right on Grove Ave, left on California Dr., left on Rosedale Ave., and right on El Camino Real.
Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain this vital thoroughfare.
