Dear Stakeholders,
The Draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-23 Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant (STPG) Application Guide is available for a 30-day public comment period from October 5 to November 4, 2022.
We are excited to announce a one-time STPG funding category and augmentation of $50 million in Climate Adaptation Planning grants (recently enacted with the State Budget under Senate Bill 198). These grants will support local and regional identification of transportation-related climate vulnerabilities through the development of climate adaptation plans, as well as project-level climate adaptation planning to identify adaptation projects and strategies for transportation infrastructure. A joint workshop with the Governor's Office of Planning and Research (OPR) will be conducted in late October (date TBD) to provide an overview and get feedback on the new STPG Climate Adaptation Planning grants, as well as the OPR Adaptation Planning Grant Program draft guidelines.
Two final Application Guide virtual workshops will occur on November 9 and 10, 2022 (see workshop details below). These workshops will provide stakeholders with a comment summary, the anticipated updates, and a final input opportunity. After the workshops, the Application Guide will be finalized and released this fall.
We look forward to receiving specific comments and feedback. Below are links to the Draft FY 2023-24 STPG Application Guide, the comment form, and the grants website for the anticipated grant cycle schedule.
Please forward this to your partners, particularly those eligible to apply or partner on a grant proposal, and submit comments by using the link below no later than COB November 4, 2022.
The State has released additional opportunities for adaptation planning grants. Please see the fact sheet below to understand these different funding opportunities. Visit the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) webpage for more information.
Stay healthy and safe!
