Good evening, San Gabriel

Get ready for the summer's biggest kickoff at Surf's Up this Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Mission District. The start of the Summer Nights series begins with food, live music, games and more. We hope you'll join us, and be sure to RSVP on Facebook or Eventbrite.

Now, here's what's making news for the week of June 13, 2018:
SGPD to propose new Marshall Park substation
To better serve the south side of community, the San Gabriel Police Department is proposing to use one of the buildings at Marshall Park as a sub-station. The station would house the department’s Traffic Bureau with full traffic service, workstations for patrol officers, investigators or assigned personnel to utilize throughout the day.

You may read more about this item and others in our June 19 City Council preview below.
New Ave, Del Mar Ave and San Gabriel Blvd I-10 offramps/onramps to temporarily close for construction
As part of a larger project to refurbish several bridge decks, Caltrans will be performing work on three overpass onramps and offramps in San Gabriel along Interstate 10.

Portions of the New Avenue, Del Mar Avenue and San Gabriel Boulevard onramps and offramps will be closed on a staggered basis, with each closure lasting 55 hours over select weekends in June, July and August. These closures include high-occupancy-vehicle lanes alongside the complete closure of City streets below the bridge, beginning on Friday night and reopening on Monday by 5:00 a.m.
