He is For You!
What difference does it make to know that Jesus is for you? To know that He wants you to succeed in what He has called you to do even more than you do? How you use your opportunities matters to Him and to eternity. Look to Him today. He cares. He is for you. He will lead you forward. fromLead Like Jesus, a daily email devotional

Not About You
We need to know that the purpose of our life is far greater than our own personal fulfillment. It's far greater than our own happiness - though that is part of it. It is far greater than even our own peace of mind, and yet that is part of it. You were made by God for a very specific purpose. And it is not about you!

For Everything There is a Season
We are all connected. We all have the same basic human needs to love and be loved. We all want to serve a purpose and to know that our lives have value. Living in balance also means living in harmony with others, which may require giving up yourself to share in something greater - a fuller life.
I was a single man for so long that when I finally found a loving relationship, I had to make some quick adjustments. I had wanted to share my life with someone, but in some ways I wasn't prepared for what that actually meant. My balance was thrown off because my life was no longer just mine. It was like having someone else jump into your canoe. Suddenly, everything shifts. You have to adjust your position. The load is greater but so is your paddle power. Now, it is a matter of working together to get where you both want to go while keeping the boat upright.

Reaching Maturity
From the moment we're born, we tend to associate love with what others do for us and the speed with which they do it. We learn to feel loved when we get our needs met - quickly. Sadly, many of us carry the same childish, demanding spirit into our relationship with God. But He knows that if He indulged our insatiable desire to have instantaneous help at every juncture, we would never grow up. Instead we'd be crippled emotionally and unable to stand, let alone walk, on our own.
Growing to maturity means learning to accept delayed gratification. Part of putting childish ways behind us, spiritually speaking, involves subduing the whiny, demanding part of our flesh that insists that, if God loves us, He must act according to our specifications, our scripts, and especially our time lines.
