Please pray:
- We can follow Jude's admonishment, as Pastor Joe shared in Jude 1:20-21, " But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God." It is here that Jude commands the believer to take personal responsibility for their own spiritual growth. We are to:
- Build ourselves up: personal edification and spiritual growth that comes from a strong foundation that did not originate with us but with God.
- On our most holy: holy means "different" because it is not created by us but by God and can make those who receive it different.
- Faith: not the subjective act of believing, but the objective content of "the Faith" once for all handed down to the saints. This refers to being doctrinally strong, to obey God's truth and feed on it for nourishment, by doing so we build up our love for Christ and for one another.
- Praying in the Holy Spirit: Praying consistent with the Spirit's desires, will, directives, and in submission, communion and power, not in reliance on our own wisdom or strength. We start in our own weakness but end in God's strength. We start with nothing, but the Spirit gives us everything, we come empty, but He fills us up.
- Keep yourselves in the love of God: How? By abiding in Christ. Apart from Jesus we can do nothing. We keep ourselves in that place of love through God's power and enabling work of the Spirit.
- For the election coming up, that the voting would be honest and truthful with no manipulation. That the elected officials would be godly and moral. And that we would have a country once again governed and based on God's Word.
- For healing for those struggling with chronic ailments and health issues.
- For each of us to trust God through trials.
