A Word from William Gragg
Hi Calvary,

It has been my privilege and joy to be a member of this church and to serve and lead in the Worship Ministry for almost fifteen years. I was brought on staff as the V2 Worship Leader in March of 2007 when I was a senior in high school, and I had no idea what God had in store for me here.

I am humbled and honored by what God has allowed me to be a part of at this amazing church. God is at work here. From V2 to Sunday evening worship, Wednesday Night Worship, Celebrate Recovery, Refuge, Renewal, student camps, VBS, mission trips, Calvary North, and CLI Kids; I have been blessed to be a part of each of these ministries and more. This is where I met my wife, Ira; where we began our life together; and where we started a family that now includes a toddler, Luca, and an infant, Solenn. This is also where I was ordained to the work of gospel ministry. I want you all to know my heartfelt gratitude to you for discipling me and allowing me to serve you. And thank you for loving and caring for my family.

It saddens Ira and me knowing that we no longer will be a part of the same local church as you. At the same time, we joyfully believe that we are following the Lord’s leadership to move and minister to a different church in a different community. I know that we carry with us our own transformative experience of having participated in the life of Calvary Baptist Church. Please know that we love you, and you will continue to be in our prayers.

Hot Hearts - 6th Graders
Since the very beginning, the aim of Hot Hearts has been to impact the lives of students with the gospel message. Because Hot Hearts is led and organized by men and women who are passionate about working with students, the event is geared toward a younger crowd and strives to connect with students in relevant ways.

Renewal Young Adult Retreat
Kevin Goodwin, NextGen Pastor
Renewal young adults spent some intentional time in community and fellowship during our Connect Retreat at Mo-Ranch outside of Hunt, TX at the end of October. We studied the concept of lives formed by practicing the presence of God daily. Mo-Ranch has prayer labyrinths, gardens, trails, and several areas designated for contemplative prayer. As a group, we delved into what God has been doing in our lives and what God is calling us to as a community. God calls us to a rhythm of life that is so different from the priorities of the world. We can and should enjoy God’s presence no matter what is going on in our lives. There is so much opportunity for self-reflection and for God to speak to us intensely when we can take some time away from the hectic schedules we think are so important. Connect Retreat serves as a refocusing of our entire lives as a continual cycle of faith and repentance. At Connect Retreat this year we were able to strengthen relationships and seek out God’s plan for what is next for the young adults ministry. Please join me in praying for our young adults. Pray that God would make our community genuine and authentic, and please pray that we would always try to put the needs of others above our own as we strive to have the mind of Christ.

Connection Group?
