Fellowship Committee Meeting August 27

The Fellowship Committee at Calvary will have a hybrid meeting tomorrow, August 27th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in the reception room. The Fellowship Committee serves to provide our parishioners with opportunities to gather socially and build our bonds of friendship.

The main focus for our August meeting will be finalizing details for the September 13th Kick-Off Sunday Tailgate Coffee Hour/lunch. We will also discuss our upcoming coffee hours for September and October and begin planning for the 2026-2027 program year. The last ½ hour of the Fellowship meeting will focus specifically on our fall Newcomers’ get-together. Good Grief

The Good Grief Support Group will meet on Saturday, August 29 at 9:30 a.m. in the Reception Room. We are a non-denominational Grief Support Group that offers fellowship and support to anyone who has suffered any type of significant loss. For more information, contact Ellen Marshall, 716-689-2133.

Sunday School Registration

Calvary's Sunday School for children and youth from Pre-K through 10th grade resumes Sunday, September 13. Click here to register your child/children for Sunday School.

Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m., before the 10:00 a.m. service. At about 10:30 a.m., Sunday School concludes and children and youth join their parent(s) or guardian(s) prior to Holy Communion.

Nursery Care is available for children 3 months through age 3 Sundays from 9:45 to 11:00 a.m., after Labor Day through May. During the summer, the nursery is open to children up to age 5. Please note that the Nursery will be closed Sunday, September 6.

Kickoff Sunday Fellowship Coffee Hour/ Tailgate brunch September 14^th

Please join us in Hughson Hall following the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service to enjoy pizza, wings and other snack food while we enjoy socializing with each other.  

Back-to-School Collection Drive for School 30

Calvary's Outreach Committee is once again collecting supplies for our "adopted" school, BPS #30.

The table below lists the needed school supplies in priority order. Column 2 indicates the targeted quantity and Column 3 shows the amount collected as of Wednesday, August 26. Items whose target goals have been reached have been crossed off the list. Items whose goals have not yet been met have been highlighted.

All are welcome to attend the first regular meeting of the Pastoral Care Ministries Committee of this new program year on Tuesday, September 8 at 5:30 in the Reception Room or by Zoom. Agenda items will include Eucharistic visits and subcommittee work, such as: College Student Care Packages, Comfort at Christmas, Knitting and Crocheting Projects, and the Blessing of the Animals. Detailed agendas will be emailed to current committee members; if you would like a copy and are not currently on our email list, please contact Elizabeth Harten.

A Prayer for our Bishop Search

Gracious God, we give thanks for your loving care for the people of the Diocese of Western New York and the members of the Bishop’s Search and Transition Committees. Give us wisdom and understanding as we discern your will. We ask for the gifts of honesty, to speak the truth in love; openness to the gifts and ideas of others and to the Holy Spirit; and willingness, to see your Light shining among us and on the path ahead. Prepare for our Diocese a bishop who will be a faithful pastor, and equip us for the ministries to which we are called in these changing times. Help us to love and serve your world and one another in the Spirit of Christ, trusting in you to be our steadfast helper and guide. Amen.

In-person worship

• Sunday 8 a.m. Holy Communion
• Sunday 10 a.m. Holy Communion. This worship service is also live streamed.
• Saturday, 4 p.m. Holy Communion
• Wednesday, 7 a.m. Holy Communion will resume September 9.

Online worship

• Sunday 10 a.m. Holy Communion is also live streamed. The link to Calvary's 10 a.m. service can be found on the Calvary website or streamed on Facebook and YouTube. All three places will have the recording to watch later.
