April 2023

Dear Caregivers,

As spring makes its way into Maryland, this is a great time to reconnect with the outdoors after a long winter. We have all heard that time outdoors is “good for us” but we may not know the many reasons why this is so. For everyone, including caregivers and those they care for, time spent outside has shown numerous benefits:

  1. Helps you get exercise
  2. Helps you get vitamin D
  3. Lessens anxiety
  4. It can be social
  5. It improves your sleep
  6. Helps you feel better about yourself (even just 5 minutes)
  7. Improves your focus
  8. Gives you better immunity
  9. Boosts your creativity
  10. Helps you maintain a healthier weight

***Please be sure to protect yourself from the sun***
