Enabling our Alutiiq people to achieve their potential through education.
A Message from KEF’s Outgoing Executive Director
Cama’i Koniag shareholders and descendants. As I write this, I’m reflecting on the past seven years spent working with Koniag Education Foundation. This period has been a highlight of my professional career, and to you (and especially our students) I say quyanaasinaq. KEF is a phenomenal organization with hard-working staff, dedicated board members, a broad community of supporters near and far, and students who inspire on a daily basis. Working as KEF’s Executive Director is a privilege; I’ve been able to watch as our youth grow up, envision their goals and work hard to make their dreams a reality. I’ve shared smiles and laughs with you at shareholder info meetings and events, and been a guest in your homes. Thank you.

Germaine Salmine is our newest Executive Director, and I couldn’t be more pleased that she will be serving in this capacity. There’s no doubt that the future at KEF is bright, and I’ll be watching now as the parent of a shareholder while the organization grows and continues to support our people in innovative, meaningful ways. To our students – work hard, and strive for your goals. As ever, you make us proud.

Be well, keep in touch, and do good work.

KEF Welcomes Executive Director Germaine Salmine
Cama'i KEF Students and Supporters!

As a Koniag Shareholder and past KEF scholarship recipient, I am honored to serve our community and excited by the challenges ahead. I look forward to furthering KEF's goals of expanding and providing opportunities, increasing scholarships, and developing programs.

As KEF's past Program Manager, my greatest reward was and continues to be supporting our Alaska Native communities and peoples. I am eager to guide the organization towards empowering our Koniag Shareholders and Descendants to ensure Alutiiq students succeed and achieve their goals.

Quyanaasinaq!

Germaine Salmine
