Cambridge Student Honored at FBLA State Leadership Conference
Trey Quinn
Trey Quinn was honored at the FBLA State Leadership Conference by GA FBLA Director, Monty Rhodes.  Trey is the first recipient for the annual Trey Quinn Inspiration Award to be given each year for one of FBLA's truly inspiring members who reaches far beyond what may seem possible to most of us. Last year when Trey's Portfolio advanced to the National Conference he inspired Monty Rhodes to develop the state-wide TREY Project (Through Reaching Every Youth) to promote awareness of the American with Disabilities Act. Trey's perseverance and enthusiasm for life inspires all that have the honor of knowing him.

Exceptional Children's Week

This week we celebrated Exceptional Children's Week at Cambridge. The week's activities culminated with the "Yes I Can" award presentations. Students gather in the gym today to celebrate our winners.
  • Ryan Stewart from Mr. Stone's class

  • Paige Baskinger from Ms. Schneider's class

  • Ridge Traylor from Ms. Ragan's class

These students overcome challenges everyday with a "yes I can" attitude. Our overall Cambridge "Yes I Can" winner is Paige Baskinger and will represent Cambridge High School at the District level.

Checkout Procedures
Friday, March 31, 2017
Please find below check out procedures for Friday, March 31, 2017. If you have any questions, please contact the Attendance Office.

Friday Checkout Procedures
Due to the volume of parents and guardians requesting to check out of their student(s) on the Friday before a school break, we have put into place the following check out procedures for Friday, March 31, 2017.
  • Parents and guardians planning to check out their student next Friday must have a signed and dated note to the Attendance Office by 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 30.
  • Students who have submitted a checkout note prior to 4:00 pm on Thursday should pick up their pass Friday morning before the bell rings. The student should give their pass to their teacher to leave at their check out time, reducing disruption to the classroom. Students will need to sign out at the Attendance Office prior to leaving.
  • For students who did not submit a prior check out note, please be aware that due to the volume of check outs on Friday, March 31, the Attendance Office cannot accept telephone calls or emails to arrange for a check out. Parents will need to come to the Attendance Office in person to check out their student.
  • Due to a planned school activity, walk-in check outs by parents and guardians cannot be honored after 1:45 pm on Friday, March 31.

Other checkout reminders:

  • A checkout that results in any part of the school day being missed is considered unexcused until a medical or legal note from the parent or guardian is submitted to the attendance office. Notes need to be submitted within three days of returning to school from the absence. For a list of excused absences please refer to the attendance guidelines.

  • If the student does not have a pre-arranged checkout note, a hand delivered note will be taken to the student when a student aid is available. We do not call into rooms to dismiss students.

  • To keep classroom disruptions to a minimum, we ask that students not be checked out during the first and last ten minutes of the period.

Friday, March 31 Bell Schedule

Community meeting planned for new STEM-focused high school campus in North Fulton
March 28
Fulton County Schools invites parents and community members to a special March 28 meeting to provide input on its new STEM focused high school campus planned for North Fulton. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the site of the former Milton High School (now called the Milton Center) in the building's media center.

Scheduled to open by Fall 2020 on the site of the Milton Center, the building will host college and career-focused curriculum pathways with a focus in the areas of Engineering, Healthcare Science, and Information Technology. The community meeting will share information on STEM curriculum pathways and how they can be most beneficial in preparing students for their post-secondary options, whether it be through a two- or four-year college experience or through directly entering the workforce with specialized STEM skills. Earlier this month, as a first step in the engagement process, visioning workshops were held with school leaders, teachers, students, and industry experts in healthcare, information technology, and post-secondary educational institutions to discuss curriculum pathways and how the STEM campus can link the work of students to real world, project-based learning opportunities.
School Governance Council Elections
March 22 - March 28, 2017
Elections will take place March 22 - March 28, 2017 for parent/guardian representatives and teacher representatives.  Each candidate has prepared a statement introducing them self and explaining why they want to serve on the council.  As you prepare to cast your vote, please visit the School Governance Council web page to learn more about the candidates so that you can make an informed decision about your council representatives.  Hard copies of the candidate statements are also available in the main office for your viewing.  This year parents and teachers will receive an email with a link to cast votes. Parents no longer need Home Access Center access for voting.
Student Microsoft Surfaces
Help Desk
There is a Help Desk in the Student Center before school, during lunches, and during all PAWS classes for students who need help. Students can bring their devices to the Student Center (with teacher permission during PAWS) for troubleshooting. If the Help Desk is not able to fix the problem, the device may need to be assessed by the School Tech and possibly sent for repair. Every effort will be made to minimize the time students are without a device. Below are troubleshooting tricks students may also try when experiencing issues with their device.

Office 365 Business is Available for Students

With Office 365, learning possibilities are limitless!
