Message from the County Administrator
We have made it to 2021! This year, there will be many chances to participate in community activities, so please stay tuned for updates. The Camden County Board of Commissioners is currently seeking applicants to serve on the Camden County Planning Commission as well as the Camden County Board of Elections and Registration. Additionally, please join us in welcoming our new Facilities Maintenance Director, U.S. Navy Veteran Matt Zink, and congratulating the seven members of the Camden County Fire Rescue Recruit Class 2020-05 for completing their Basic Firefighter requirements.

2021 also brings Camden County our new District 3 Commissioner, Trevor Readdick, as well as welcomes back re-elected District 1 Commissioner Lannie Brant, District 2 Commissioner Chuck Clark, District 4 Commissioner Gary Blount, and re-elected District 5 Commissioner Ben Casey. Additionally, please join us in thanking outgoing District 3 Commissioner, Chairman Jimmy Starline, for his 10-and-a-half years of service to the County.

Election Day for the general election runoff is quickly approaching, so please remember to stay informed about your voter registration status, assigned polling location, and advance in-person voting opportunities by visiting the Georgia My Voter Page at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.

Election Day is Tuesday, January 5
For the General Election Runoff for Federal, State, and Local Offices, voters should go to their assigned polling place between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to cast their ballots. Registered voters can visit the Georgia My Voter Page at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov to check their registration status, verify polling location, request an absentee ballot, view sample ballots, or check the status of their returned absentee ballot.

During in-person voting opportunities, the BoER strongly encourages the use of masks and gloves for all electors. Poll workers will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment and disinfecting all voting equipment throughout each day of in-person voting. Social distancing is urged for all voters, while voting equipment is specifically situated at a polling place to provide for ample room for distancing.
Camden County Welcomes New District 3 Commissioner Trevor Readdick
The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to welcome newly-elected District 3 Commissioner, Trevor Readdick to the Camden County team. Mr. Readdick graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, and was a member of the Construction Management Guild as well as the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). He is the founder of Readdick Construction, and his prior and current achievements include being an active member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, Rotary Club of Camden County, Camden County Chamber of Commerce Board, Habitat for Humanity Building Committee, Camden/Charlton County Board of Realtors, President for the Home Builders Association of Camden County, and Secretary/Vice President for the Home Builders Association of Georgia. 
Thanking Outgoing Chairman Jimmy Starline for Years of Service
In recognition of ten-and-a-half years of service to the citizens of Camden County, outgoing District 3 Commissioner and Chairman Jimmy Starline will be honored at the January 12, 2021 Board of Commissioners Meeting. Mr. Starline has been a devoted public servant to the citizens of Camden County during his tenure as District 3 Commissioner and Chairman, and we would like to thank him for his continuous and diligent contributions to the County. Motor Vehicle Services Unavailable
From January 13, 2021 to January 18, 2021, the Camden County Tax Commissioner's Motor Vehicle Division will be closed January 13th - January 18th for a statewide system upgrade. All motor vehicle services will be unavailable statewide during this time. The office is scheduled to reopen January 19th at 9:00 a.m. Please renew early if your registration will expire during this period.
Camden County Welcomes New Facilities Maintenance Director
The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to welcome Matthew Zink to the Camden County team. Matt, a recent retiree from the U.S. Navy, will be responsible for directing and participating in the repair and maintenance of county buildings and facilities.
Camden County Fire Rescue Graduates New Firefighters
The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that seven members of Recruit Class 2020-05 have completed their Basic Firefighter requirements. Ulysses Carswell, Jeremy Griffin, Cody Herrin, Daniel Lalkas, Matthew Liddell, Brett Miller, and Erik Wright were recognized at a graduation ceremony held last week along with Doug Flowers and Devin Kennedy of the St. Marys Fire Department. Camden County Seeking Applicants for Board of Elections & Registration 
The Camden County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants to serve on the Camden County Board of Elections & Registration, District 1 and District 3 Appointments. The Camden County Board of Elections and Registration is comprised of five members, one from each district, appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The Board has the powers, duties, and responsibilities of the election superintendent of Camden County; the municipal election superintendent of the City of Kingsland, the City of St. Marys, and the City of Woodbine; and the Board of Registrars of Camden County, which is provided for under Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the O.C.G.A., the “Georgia Election Code.” To learn more, please view the Full Press Release (PDF).
Camden County Seeking Applicants for Planning Commission
The Camden County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants to serve on the Camden County Planning Commission, District 1 and District 3 Appointments. The Planning Commission is a five-member advisory body that makes recommendations on land use applications. The Planning Commission evaluates development projects and land policy proposals which serve to promote community, future land use trends, public health, general welfare, economic prosperity, and overall quality of life for Camden County residents. Residents Encouraged to Utilize Online Services
Camden County residents are urged to utilize online or telephone services when possible due to the continued spread of COVID-19 in our community. Although county office buildings remain open to the public, many staff members are working remotely at this time to ensure proper social distancing.

The Camden County website, www.camdencountyga.gov, has an Online Payments page to assist residents with conducting business online. To learn more about online services, please visit the Camden County Website.

All Camden County residents are strongly encouraged to sign-up for CodeRED online at www.camdencountyga.gov/codeRED to receive emergency notifications and location-specific severe weather warnings. Notifications may be sent to cell phones or landlines and through email and text. The service is TDD/TTY compatible.
COVID-19 Testing

Anyone who would like to be tested for COVID-19 can get free testing through the Coastal Health District. Even individuals who do not have symptoms can be tested. All testing through public health is free and no insurance information is required. For more information, please visit https://covid19.gachd.org/.
