Spring 2013
 Hello!

Spring has sprung...despite the near freezing temperatures coming we've been experiencing, and we are excited about all that we have going on the next few months.  We have recreational opportunities going on for all ages, from Mommy and Me gymnastics to Off Our Rockers senior fitness.  And if outdoor recreation is more your thing, come on out and enjoy one of our parks.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Health and Fitness Spotlight: Sitting Disease

"Sitting Is The Smoking Of Our Generation"
Thanks to technology we are less mobile. We sit too much. Even 60 minutes of exercise is not enough to counter act 8 hours of desk work plus combined with the amount of sitting you do at home and in the car .
The answer is not more gym time,  but less sitting.
Here is one way to help you sit less:  an app from I Tunes to remind you to take standing breaks and do exercises during your workday.

I encourage you to find out more about this.  Type "sitting disease" into a search engine and see what pops up.  Also, here are 2 interesting articles about Sitting Disease

Finally, if you can stand, don't sit. If can walk, don't stand. And if you can do something manually, don't use a machine.

Here's to a healthier you!
Juvi
