Brianna came to us through our partnership with GST MI Works. She needed help with getting her GED. When Brianna started the GED process, she said she was uncertain of her future but wanted to be a positive example for her son. She worked hard and got her GED in July 2023. Brianna's future looks bright as she is attending Mott Community College to become an American Sign Language interpreter. Way to Go, Brianna! We are so proud of you!

Since January 2023, 38 students have earned their GED. YOU have helped change 38 lives. Thank you for your support!

Volunteer of the Month Colleen

Colleen started volunteering at the Family Literacy Center in April of 2022. Since starting as a volunteer, she has helped two people earn their GED's and has also taken on the task of mailing out our birthday wishes and graduation cards.

Colleen says that what she really enjoys about tutoring is seeing the students build confidence in themselves and their abilities. She loved attending the May graduation ceremony and witnessing the pride shown by the students, their families, and the staff! Colleen is one of our superstar volunteers and is always willing to lend a hand!
