We are overjoyed to announce that, at yesterday’s congregational meeting, the congregation enthusiastically and overwhelmingly voted to call the Reverend Dr. Camille Cook Howe to serve as the next Pastor of Fourth Presbyterian Church.

We are grateful for the workings of the Holy Spirit and the tireless dedication of the Pastor Nominating Committee in bringing us to this historic day in the life of Fourth Church, and we look forward with confidence and hope to all that lies ahead as Fourth Church and Camille grow together in faith, love, and service.

In the days to come, please hold in prayer Camille; her husband, David; their children; and their beloved church family, the congregation of Georgetown Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., as they navigate a season of leave-taking and good-byes and as the Howes prepare for this new adventure that will bring them to a life among us.

Camille will begin her Fourth Church ministry in September, when our annual fall kickoff festivities will be infused with the added excitement of launching a new season in our life as a congregation.

In her statement of faith Camille writes, “We live by faith and hope — faith that God’s love for us is steadfast and hope that we might live into the fullness of God’s grace.”

Firmly grounded in that faith and hope, we — Camille and Fourth Church — shall now live out together our call to be a light in the city as we love God and love one another.
