Dear Camp Families,
One of our goals at camp is to help campers play, learn and thrive by stepping out of their comfort zones and trying new things. Right now, we are all trying new things and it's hard. The current COVID-19 situation is changing daily (even hourly) and testing our ability to be creative and flexible and we imagine you are having similar feelings. Please know you are not alone.
We are anxiously anticipating directives from our State Governments regarding the status of camp this summer. The start of camp may be later than originally planned. We also are members of and accredited by the American Camp Association who has formed a task force with the CDC and Y-USA to establish guidelines for safe camp operations if allowed to open this summer. We will use these guidelines in our decisions regarding how camp will run this summer.
Your child's health is our main priority. We will notify you as soon as we make any decisions regarding any contingency or abbreviated plans that will need to be made for our 2020 summer camp season. One thing that has not changed is the Ocean Community YMCA Mission:
To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Our goal is to provide programs in a safe manner that meets this mission and the needs of our community.
