Really helpful booking deadline

You will be hearing this date over and over: 10th January 2025. This is the Really Helpful Booking Deadline.

But wait - what does that mean? Well, many exciting aspects of Camp 100 need to be planned (and paid for!) long in advance of next summer. Having a good idea of numbers will really help us to make this camp a success.

So we have introduced the concept of a Really Helpful Booking Deadline and hope that, where possible, districts will be registered into the booking system by this date to support the team of staff and volunteers working hard in the background.

If we get 1000 people booked by this deadline, all villages will be rewarded with £100 to spend on food, this could be snacks, condiments or ingredients to make an international snack from the country of your delegation.

International Info Pack

International info packs are now available in English, French and Spanish. These have been written specifically to support international delegations, who may have different questions about Camp 100 to Woodcraft Folk districts and who need to consider additional steps, such as visas.

If your district has links to an international group, why not share a copy of the international info pack with them?

Bare in mind that international groups from outside of Europe need to register interest before 1st December 2024, it will come round quickly!

Also, check out the dates for our upcoming online Q&As as they have a focus on supporting international groups.

Access Fund

Woodcraft Folk is keen to increase and widen participation in all of our activities. The Camp 100 team have created this fund to support people who would otherwise struggle to afford to attend Camp 100.

This might be people on free school meals or universal credit or young people without parental or district support to attend events. We are keen that everyone is included so if you are unsure if the fund applies to you it probably does, we hope we can offer support to match needs. We are particularly keen to increase representation of people of colour, of those with disabilities or those from districts which haven't previously attended an international camp.

We will aim to cover the requested costs however depending on the number of applications this may not be completely possible. We will be releasing the fund in 2 phases to ensure we can support as many people as possible. First round deadline to apply is 30 November. If you would like to discuss anything further please get in touch to info@camp100.org.uk.

More information, deadlines and application form can be found here.

*Spotlight on....In Search of Librarians!*

In this section of our monthly enewsletter, we are going to be featuring and giving an insight into the different aspects of camp, this edition we are focusing on the camp libraries.

Every Town at Camp 100 will have a library. This is a new and exciting change from Common Ground in 2022, Woodcraft Folk's most recent international camp.

Each library will have a friendly neighbourhood librarian to help coordinate and communicate the programme across the town. Each library will offer a space to come relax and will have sports equipment, books, and art supplies available to use.

Librarians will also be able to support districts and international delegations who wish to plan evening programme for village days, such as a cultural evening, ’pub’ quiz or Merry Moot.

Could you, or someone you know, be a great librarian? Check out the role description below and pass it on!

We would love to have a 'call out' feature in future enewsletter editions which will be a space for our groups to give a shout out for camp. It could be help you need or advice you are looking for or maybe trying to find people to collaborate on something in the lead up to camp.

Camp 100 enewsletters will be sent monthly, so if you have something you would like to submit for the 'Camp call out' section, please let us know by sending an email to lauren.penny@woodcraft.org.uk within the next few weeks providing any contact details people can reach you on and what you are wanting to ask for.
