Cottontail History
 Founded in 1958 by 4 school principals, Cottontail was created to give children a safe, caring and really fun place to come and spend a few weeks every summer. Located in Malibu Canyon, Cottontail was able to draw kids from all over the world. Year after year children from Southern California, many different states, as well as several different countries, came back to make new friends, reconnect with old friends and learn new skills. An industry leader in camping, Cottontail was one of the original members of the Western Association of Independent Camps and has always been accredited by the American Camp Association. Last summer Cottontail and Valley Trails Ranch teamed up to bring Camp Cottontail to its new home on beautiful Valley Trails Ranch. We were able to combine VTR beautiful location with out tried and true program. This combination of two wonderful programs promises to bring new adventures to the returning Cottontail families and the many new families who are joining.
