Thanksgiving Dinner
It's the same old stories year after year
As we gather on Thanksgiving Day.
The same cast of characters do show up
And we talk, and share, and play.
It's one of those family traditions
We all do year after year.
Gather together to tell the same tales
We've all grown to love and hold dear.
How Grandma walked for miles, in the snow,
To get to school each day.
And Grandpa worked for a dollar twenty,
Not per hour - but for the whole day.
How the pressure cooker exploded
And the turkey filled the room,
The ceiling, the walls, and on the floor,
At the time it was sheer doom.
But now these stories give great delight
For they are told year after year.
It's part of our Thanksgiving celebration,
That we've grown to love and hold dear.
