Last Friday, HMS Students and staff closed out Spring Week of Prayer with a meaningful and moving experience. We started our morning in the prayer garden singing songs lead by Pastor Bizama. After singing, older students were paired with younger students for prayer. Immediately following we made our way into the fellowship hall where tea lights formed the shape of the cross. Student buddies were directed to sit around the cross where Pastor Bizama led us in a full communion service. Students participated in washing each other’s feet and then partaking of the bread and juice. The atmosphere was reverent and prayerful. Here is what some of our students had to say about their experience…
K-2
“Mrs. Lange! After having the drink and bread, I feel different. My heart feels changed. I feel like a different person. “
Another student piped in right away…and said, “Yes. It was so much about Jesus! Jesus was there!”
3rd & 4th
“I liked how calm and peaceful it was. It got people out of their comfort zone because some people may not have wanted to pray or wash feet.”
5th & 6th
“It helped my understand more and open my mind to the voice of Jesus.”
“It made me realize that I need to put others first in service.”
Mrs. Jordan
“The mentorship between older and younger students was a special opportunity for both. To watch each one serve each other through foot washing and then pray for each other was a special moment.”
PE Equipment Wish List
We are looking to build up our PE program for the lower grades at HMS Richards. This will enable us to focus on skill development such as locomotor skills, hand eye coordination, and sports related skills. If you would like to support HMS in enhancing our PE program, we would greatly appreciate it.
