ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW: SENIORS Your graduation announcements and accessories will be delivered on Friday, January 13 during lunch only in front of the MUR. This is the only delivery day so please be sure to pick up your graduation announcement items at this time.


NEW: F=MA PHYSICS COMPETITION SIGNUPS All students are invited to participate in the nationwide F=ma physics competition on February 9 after school. F=ma is similar to the AMC math competition and tests students on their physics intuition and problem-solving skills with simple yet intriguing questions. Click here for the no-obligation signup form with more details. The competition is hosted through the Physics Comp Club; join their discord server here or email Chang Yu for any questions!


REMINDER: CAMPO SERVICE AWARDS--KEEP TRACK OF YOUR HOURS Students who volunteer in the community may be eligible for a Service Award. Completed hours and applications will be accepted no later than April 21, 2023. There is a new online only application process this year and we are returning to the 30 hour minimum. For details, guidelines, and application information, please visit the Volunteer Service Award page on the Campo website or visit CPC Volunteer Service Award on the CPC website.


SAVE THE DATE FOR THE JAZZ DINNER DANCE ON FEBRUARY 11 The Campo Jazz Band presents their annual Jazz Dinner Dance on Saturday, February 11. This is a wonderful fundraiser for the jazz band and will be held at Creekside Commons in Lafayette. Tickets include dinner, plus we will have raffles and a silent auction. If you haven’t heard our jazz band perform, you are in for a treat, as they are fantastic. Click here to hear one of their songs from the fall pops concert. MORAGA ROTARY The Rotary Club of Moraga will be having a lunch presentation on January 10. AUHSD Superintendent John Nickerson will be speaking. More info here. The Rotary club will also have a dinner fundraiser on January 24. The proceeds will go to various organizations, including MEF. More info here.

NEW: 2023 CAMPO TRACK & FIELD Winter training sessions for all track & field event groups are meeting daily after school in preparation for the upcoming spring season. Athletes not currently participating in a Campo winter sport are strongly encouraged to attend these important conditioning sessions. Athletes are also reminded that all eligibility requirements must be completed prior to February 6. Find complete Campo Track & Field details at campotrack.com.


ATHLETIC BOOSTERS FIRST ANNUAL CRAB FEED CELEBRATION AND FUNDRAISER Interested in a fun night with good food, good friends, and live music from Campo's own Mr. Duffy and his Ripplers band? The Campo Athletic Boosters is hosting our first Annual Campo Athletic Boosters Crab Feed on February 10 at 6pm at the Serbian Orthodox Church in Moraga. The festivities include a full Crab Dinner, awards, a raffle, music, dancing and much more! Go to the Campo Webstore's Athletic Boosters Crab Feed tile to order your tickets - and if you're in a giving mood, consider sponsoring a coach or Campo staff member and/or contributing to our Fund-A-Need program (which, this year, will be upgrading Campo's weight room and expanding Campo's strength and conditioning program for ALL athletes). GIRLS LACROSSE Girls lacrosse tryouts begin the week of February 6. Please help us get a general idea on a head count by completing this survey in advance of January 23.


COMING SOON The Campo Athletic Boosters is sponsoring a female strength and conditioning 'pilot' starting in January to be held in Campo's Weight Room one or two days a week for two months. Details are being finalized so look for more information coming soon - but whether your student formally plays a Campo sport or not, she is welcome to participate in this strength and conditioning pilot program.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

NEW: GOVTREK FROM AAUW This is a free, two-month virtual statewide program for junior and senior girls designed to elevate a new generation to pursue careers in public service and elected office. During five two-hour sessions, students will engage in interactive activities with exposure to women legislators, career options, and the inner workings of a political campaign. The program begins January 28. The registration deadline is January 14. Register here.


NEW: OXBRIDGE SUMMER ACADEMIC PROGRAMS PRESENTATION January 17, Lunchtime, in E13 Attend a presentation by Oxbridge Academic Programs to learn about summer programs across Europe and in the U.S. Choose from over 150 courses. Register for the presentation here.


NEW: MARINE MAMMAL EVENT January 28, 1:00-3:00pm (CA time), on Zoom. The Marine Mammal Center in Hawaii is hosting a free, virtual Stewardship Saturday this month! This program features rotating themes such as shadowing careers related to marine mammals, venturing through various natural spaces associated with marine mammals, creating action projects, and more. NEW: NAVIANCE WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS Naviance is used by our district to manage information for the college admissions process and to help students assess their career options. Learn how to use it to find colleges, enter information for Counselor Letters, build a resume, research careers and more. CAMPOLINDO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND BELONGING

NEW: THANK YOU FOR COMING OUT TO THE BOYS BASKETBALL TAILGATE We enjoyed co-hosting the tailgate party with CPC and Athletic Boosters. It was great to see many of you as we cheered on the basketball teams for Friday's games!


NEW: QUEER YOUTH FILMMAKING WORKSHOP Saturday, January 28 & February 4 from 10am-4pm at the Rainbow Community Center in Concord. This is a free workshop for queer youth 13-17 (18 okay if still in HS). Open to queer youth of all filmmaking levels. We plan to also have a queer youth film screening. Additionally, youth who join might be able to earn a scholarship (paid by RCC) to a film intensive camp with BAVC/Reel Stories. Get all the details and register here.


NEW: PARENT EDUCATION ABOUT RACIAL CONSCIOUSNESS With Dr. Lori Watson, first session, Tuesday, January 10, from 5:00-7:00pm. The Orinda School District is offering a Parent Education Event about Racial Consciousness with Dr. Lori Watson, founder and CEO of Race-Work. Dr. Watson will be leading a four-part series for parents/caregivers to explore issues of race and identity and help develop tools to speak to our children and others about this often-difficult topic. The "Parents for Racial Equity" four-part series is intended to educate and engage adult learners who wish to expand their personal knowledge and elevate their racial consciousness. Sessions will be held on the following dates; all sessions will be held in the OUSD Boardroom

DEIB GRANT PROGRAM The DEIB Grant Program is here to support you! The student committee and the DEIB Parents Club are giving $100+ dollar grants to student-led projects that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in our Campo community. This will be a collaborative process and provide real-life experiences for any future equity-minded entrepreneur. The rolling grant application will be open from January 9th to February 3rd, 2023. Students with DEIB-focused projects should apply here. The application process will start in January.
