ANNOUNCEMENTS
NEW: COURSE SELECTION PROCESS FOR 2022-2023 Counselors will be visiting classes this week to provide students in grades 9-11 with course-selection materials and directions. Students will need to submit their choices by Friday, January 28.

NEW: CAMPO CONNECT EQUITY LESSON In the fall "CHS Pulse Survey," 74% of CHS students agreed with the following statement: "I feel like I belong in my school." Student, staff, and parent leaders are working to build a school culture that will enable 100% of students to feel like they belong. During this Friday's Academy, students will engage in the second Campo Connect Equity Lesson. The key goal with these lessons is to build an inclusive school community where all have a strong sense of belonging.

THIS WEEK: OPEN HOUSE 2022, THURSDAY, JANUARY 27th, 6:30-8:00pm Please join the entire Campolindo community for Open House 2022. During this online event, staff, student, and parent leaders will present about Campolindo’s academic and extracurricular programs. You will also be able to watch brief videos about the school's curricular pathways and courses. Details and Webinar Registration Link.

NEW COUNSELOR Welcome Cassandra Santellan! Ms. Santellan joins the Counseling Department after serving the students of James Logan High School in Union City. Ms. Santellan will be the counselor for students with last names S-Z.         

ROBOTICS CLUB Congratulations to the Campolindo Robotics Club for earning two awards at the recent NorCal First Tech Challenge: 2nd Place for overall performance and the Inspire Award for community outreach. Thank you Ms. Madra for serving as the advisor for the club.

CAMPOLINDO POETRY & CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST The Campolindo Poetry And Creative Writing (PAC) Club is launching a writing contest with the submission window from January 18th through March 1st. Students are welcome to submit poetry, short prose, or long prose. Click here for details.

CAMPO LEC UPDATE LEC is back at work in the new year! Our Restorative Justice committee is maintaining the Athletic Leadership Council (ALC) and implementing restorative practices across Campo. The Education subcommittee is working on helping facilitate the upcoming Equity lesson on January 28th that all Campo students will participate in during academy. In addition, they are beginning recruitment for a new Deconstructing Race class. The Community Outreach committee has a volunteer service drive, Lunar New Year celebrations, Earth week, and is partnering with middle schools on mental health. ORDER YOUR YEARBOOK ASAP If you have not yet ordered a yearbook, do so ASAP! Unfortunately, COVID has created supply chain issues and other possible delays, therefore, this year, we are expected to place our final order earlier than usual. If you wish to guarantee a copy for you, you will need to place your order at www.yearbookcenter.com (school code 6377) before sales are closed

HEALTH & SAFETY--COVID-19 Campolindo continues to work closely with Contra Costa Health Services to foster a safe school environment for students and staff.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS
LUNCH DISTRIBUTION We need parent help to get the lunches distributed in a timely manner. This is a quick and easy volunteer job to help get the students fed quickly! Time slots are available M-F from 12:45-1:15pm. Click here to sign up. 

JAZZ DINNER DANCE VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS We are in need of volunteers to both join the planning committee and staff the event. Need is especially greatest for volunteers from Freshman/Sophomore/Junior families to join the planning committee as this year’s event Co-Chairs, Chris House and Wei Barck, both have graduating Seniors in the Jazz Band. NEW: SWIM TEAM The Campo Swim Team is looking for a JV coach. If you are interested or know anyone that is interested please have them contact either AD Ray Meadows or Head Swim Coach John Studebaker.

NEW: GIRLS LACROSSE Tryouts begin Monday, February 7th from 4-5:45pm on the grass by the CPAC. Please follow @campo13thwoman on Instagram for tryout, practice and game updates.

NEW: CAMPO TRACK & FIELD The spring track & field session officially begins on February 7. All levels of experience are welcome. An important informational meeting for athletes and parents will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, January 26. Please visit www.campotrack.com for details on how to add yourself to the team email list, as well as eligibility requirements and winter conditioning opportunities.

SPORTS ANNOUNCERS NEEDED Have you always wanted to try your hand at sports announcing, but haven't known how to go about it? Or maybe you're interested in producing live-stream events or filming them or investigating the technology underlying them? Consider working with the Campo Athletic Boosters on Campo's live-stream sports broadcast effort!! Fill out this interest form and we'll get back to you to discuss options. If your child(ren) might also be interested in live-stream broadcasting, let us know that as well, and we'll get them involved in the Live-stream Broadcast Student Club. Thanks for considering this!!

DIVING If your student is interested, please email Coach Eric Holzheimer and provide the following info: full name, mobile number, email, school (Coach Eric coaches more than one high school diving team), and grade. There was a Zoom information meeting and introduction session which was recorded--find the link to this session and other information here.

INDOOR ATHLETIC ATTENDANCE RESTRICTIONS Due to the current safety concerns, the AUHSD schools are implementing a new athletic attendance policy for indoor competitions. Effective today, we are limiting indoor attendance at our home indoor athletic events to athlete family members only. This policy will be revisited weekly and adjusted as conditions change. 

SPRING SPORTS Spring sports start on Feb. 7thIf you are a spring sport athlete (Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, B. Volleyball, Swimming, Diving, Track and Field, B. Tennis, B. Golf) please make sure you are registered on Sportsnet. Campo Sports Registration

UPDATE: NAVIANCE WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS OF JUNIORS WILL BE ON ZOOM, FEBRUARY 1, 6:30-7:30pm Get insights into the college application process and learn how to use Naviance. Naviance is one of the most important apps we use in the College & Career Center. It helps students prepare for the college admissions process. Its tools include self-assessments, career assessments, resume building, college research, and so much more. It's required by both students and staff for the college application process. Register here.
 
NEW: HBCU COLLEGE FAIR, Thursday, February 24, 10:00am–1:00pm. Join us for a Campo field trip to College Park to attend the Historically Black College and University Fair. This is a great opportunity to meet with HBCU college admission counselors to answer your questions regarding admission and financial aid. Register herePick up field trip forms in the College & Career Center. DEADLINE to return the forms is FEB 17! No exceptions!

NEW: TIME MANAGEMENT SEMINAR WITH KATHLEEN METHENY, March 6, 3:30-5:30pm IN E13 Students will learn time management skills, including goal setting with solution-based methods. Students will reflect on times in the past when they've been successful and examine those behaviors to complete their own student success template and be more engaged students. Cost: $125 per student. See the flyer for more information here and register here.
