ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW: CPC BOARD MEETING TOMORROW The next CPC board meeting will be on Tuesday, February 6 at 9am at the Campo Library. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend. Agenda can be found here. Financials for December can be found here, and financials for January can be found here. Please join us!


NEW: SUPER BOWL PARTY MEAL FUNDRAISER Get ready to kick off Super Bowl Sunday with a delicious taco bar meal from El Molino Taqueria that serves 8-10. Your choice of chicken, carnitas, or combo (half and half), accompanied by rice, beans, tortillas, and all of the toppings needed for a fiesta--fresh avocado, cilantro, tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, limes, and sliced olives, all for $135. Pick up at the Campo drive through outside the MUR between 12-1:30pm on Sunday, February 11Order here. Funds raised will benefit Class of 2026.


NEW: ELECTRONIC WASTE COLLECTION Have electronic waste? Want to avoid a lengthy trip to a recycling center? Send in any old electronics with your student to their fifth period class on Wednesdays! This includes but is not limited to wires, phones, printers, laptops, and any other electronics you want to get rid of. Campolindo is collecting through February 14 and after that all waste will be properly disposed of. Points will be tallied based on weight, with prizes given to the classes with the most points.


CSF APPLICATIONS The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) application will be completed online this semester and the submission window will run from January 22-February 16. CSF is a statewide organization that honors outstanding high school students for their academic achievements based upon each semester's grades. Complete information about CSF, including the online application form that must be completed to qualify for membership, can be found here. Questions? Contact Duane Magno in the Counseling Office.


BSU DANCE Miramonte's BSU and Leadership will be hosting a district-wide Mardi Gras dance for all students on February 23 from 7-9pm! Along with dancing and an awesome DJ, there will be food, 360 open-air video booth, a place to hang out with friends, and an airbrush tattoo artist! Tickets will be $10 and can be found on your school's website/GoFan. We are excited to see your students there! Learn more and purchase tickets here.


HIGH SCHOOL VISUAL ARTS COMPETITION The Lamorinda Arts Council is pleased to share that registration for our 21st Annual High School Visual Arts Competition is now open! All work is by high school students who live in or attend school in Orinda, Lafayette, or Moraga. The competition includes an in-person art exhibit in the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library, an online public exhibit of entries on the Lamorinda Arts Council website, cash awards, merit citations, and an Artist & Award reception for friends and family. DRIVERS NEEDED FOR CULTIVATE THINKING The Campolindo Club, Cultivate Thinking, creates and teaches equity lessons to local 5th grade classes in Moraga. To continue teaching about important topics such as microaggressions or ableism, they are seeking drivers to transport student presenters to and from their lessons this spring. If you are interested in supporting them, please sign up for a specific date via this SignUpGenius and they will reach out to you as soon as possible! CONTRA COSTA SHARK TANK YOUTH COMPETITION Campolindo Entrepreneurship Club has selected the 10 finalists for the first Contra Costa Shark Tank Youth Competition. Campo senior Beatrice Roberge is one of the finalists! Come cheer on the finalists and see who wins the top $1,000 prize on February 6 at the Lafayette library 7-9pm. CAMPO SERVICE AWARDS Our students have been hard at work this year serving our community in a variety of ways. Your student may be eligible for the Campo Service Award (30 hours of service) or the President's Volunteer Service Award (50 hours for students under 16, and 100 hours for 16 and older). ROARING ‘20s JAZZ DINNER DANCE TICKETS ON SALE NOW Step into the glitz and glamour of the Roaring ‘20s and join the Music Boosters for an evening filled with live music from the talented Campo Jazz Band on March 2. Get ready to dance the night away and dress to impress in your finest 1920s attire, or whatever makes you comfortable! You can brush up on your moves with an optional dance lesson, indulge in appetizers and a delicious buffet dinner and dessert, sip on refreshing drinks, and dive into the excitement of our raffle and silent auction. Funds raised will aid in purchasing sheet music, cover coaching fees, instrument repairs, and make musical trips and tours a reality for students. Tickets are $95 and VIP/table options are available. Purchase your tickets here.


LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS Here are some of the latest happenings on campus.

  • MINI CLUB DAY On February 7 at lunch. If you’re interested in making a new club come to E9 for paperwork; existing clubs that would like to be showcased must fill out the google form in the weekly roundup.
  • DO YOU LIKE PIE? WANT TO SUPPORT THE CHILDREN OF GAZA? Want to see your favorite teachers get pied in the face? We are pre-selling pies all week at lunch for $5/slice. With each slice, you get to choose a teacher you would like to pie. When a teacher gets 100 dollars they will get pied! Pies will be distributed and teachers will be pied on Friday, February 9 in the quad! All money will go to the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund!
  • LUNAR NEW YEAR DECORATING After school on February 9.

Are you interested in becoming more involved and connected to the Campo community? Volunteering for the CPC is not only rewarding, but also makes a difference in the experience for all of our Campo students and parents. We are actively looking for parents who are interested in joining our board for 2024-2025. We have a variety of jobs, big and small with varying time commitments, on both our Executive Board and Committees. Please fill out this interest form to learn more. CAMPOLINDO TOURS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS Tours will be offered to prospective students and their families on February 7, March 6, and April 3. The tours will visit a variety of classrooms and featured locations on campus, followed by a Q&A at the end. Tours meet in “A Hall West” outside the Attendance Office at 3:30pm. Please email Mrs. Sliwinski to reserve a spot for a tour. 

ATHLETICS NEWS

NEW: CRAB FEED VOLUNTEERS Thanks to all who have purchased tickets to the second Annual Campo Athletic Boosters Crab Feed Celebration to be held on February 9. We're looking forward to a fun evening of good friends, good food and lots of celebrating! For those who would like to volunteer at the event, we could always use extra pairs of hands helping set up and run the event. DAL AND NCS PLAYOFF TICKETS -- GoFAN.co For all DAL and NCS Playoff Games, spectators will need a ticket purchased through GoFan.co. ASB Cards and Booster Cards are not valid to any DAL Championships and NCS Championship Playoff Games. Cash tickets will not be sold at the gate. Please purchase the ticket in advance.

  • Monday, February 5: All athletes that want to participate in Campo Swim MUST register AND provide a swimsuit size through the Apparel web store.
  • Monday, February 5, 3:45pm: First day of practice - team meeting on the Soda Center pool deck with coaches - swimmers will NOT be getting in the water. Athletic clearance is REQUIRED for athletes to practice in the pool with the team.

B. GOLF Tryouts will begin today, Monday, February 5, at Moraga Country Club's large putting green at 3:30pm. Depending on the weather, tryouts may take up to 2 weeks to complete. We practice Monday through Thursday. We do ask that prospective candidates sign up for the team via the Sportsnet registration link on the Campolindo website. If your student athlete is involved in a winter sport please email Coach O'Neill or text 925-998-7666. Winter sports athletes will be able to try out when their season concludes; we would like to know in advance who will be trying out. For more information regarding our program please log on to our golf page on the Campolindo Athletics website. 


UPDATE: BOYS VARSITY TENNIS IMPORTANT DATES COMING UP

  • February 5-7: Tryouts begin 10 minutes after dismissal until 6pm. *Note that rain delays may push tryouts to later in the week. Please check the website for last minute changes. 
  • February 9: Training begins 
  • February 10: Team practice 
  • February 12: Mandatory parent info meeting and coach presentation (6pm, location TBA)

SOFTBALL Tryouts start today, Monday, February 5, 3:30pm at the softball field. 

Please come in softball attire; if you do not have softball attire, please come in athletic wear. If you own any softball gear please bring it with you! We can help accommodate those who do not have gear. Any questions please email camposoftball@gmail.com.

NEW: COLLEGE COUNSELING & COLLEGE ALTERNATIVES FOR STUDENTS WITH IEPs Parents workshop presented on post high school education options and the college application process for students receiving special education services. This is a partnership between SEED and AUHSD, www.seedlafayette.org. NEW: ROTARY CAMP VENTURE 2024 Applications due March 1. Open to students who have completed their Junior year. Rotary District 5160 is accepting applications for their Business Camp for Leaders & Entrepreneurs held June 19-23, at Saint Mary’s College, Moraga. NEW: SUPPORTING LGBTQ YOUTH AUHSD is holding a parent/caregiver workshop on Tuesday, February 6, for AUHSD parents, caregivers, and supporters of LGBTQ+ students, titled Supporting LGBTQ Youth. AUHSD is proud to partner with the Contra Costa County Office of Education's Wellness in Schools Program and the Trevor Project to provide this presentation and workshop. Students are welcome to attend with their parents/caregivers. The parent/caregiver/supporter workshop will be held in the Acalanes High School Library at 6:00pm. If you are interested in attending this workshop, please register here.


NEW: BLACK EXCELLENCE MONTH STUDENT EVENTS Many activities willbe held on campus in celebration of BEM.

  • GUEST SPEAKER During Lunch tomorrow in B10 (Peterson), Guest Speaker Vinchei Sanders will be speaking on his career in Data Science, but also a really cool life story. High School is not the full story!
  • WII SPORT TOURNAMENT On Mondays during lunch, head over to BSU's meeting for a fun Wii tournament. Play will take place on February 5, 12, and 26.
  • HCBU COLLEGE FAIR On February 17 from 10-5pm there will be a HBCU College Fair at the Oakland Marriot. Reach out to Senior Kaya Tong if you are interested, or see Ms. Batcheller in the College and Career Center for more information
  • BLACK OWNED BUSINESS FAIR In the QUAD on February 21st. Come have some tasty treats from locally owned Black businesses.
  • A NIGHT IN NEW ORLEANS DISTRICT WIDE DANCE Come celebrate Mardi Gras! Ever wish you could go to a dance with your friends from across the district? Well, you can! On Friday, February 23 at Miramonte, BSUs from across the district are putting on a dance for EVERYONE! Tickets are $10 and you can buy them on GoFan.
  • BLACK PANTHER MOVIE FEST On February 28, come on over to B10 in Academy to watch Black Panther. If you haven't seen it, it is a must! The costuming is amazing! If you have seen it, come and watch it with others!


BOOK DISCUSSION Las Lomas HS DEI would like to host a two-part discussion of the graphic novel They Call Us Enemy by George Takei. There is a webinar that George Takei will participate in on February 13 at 9-10am hosted by Facing History & OurselvesYou must register to attend the call. LLHS DEIB Zoom Book Discussions via Zoom - parents, teachers and students welcome on February 22 and March 21 6-7pm (proposed dates).
