URGENT: CAMPO TEACHER & STAFF LUNCHEON IS THIS WEEK AND MORE HELP NEEDED!  It’s time to spoil our Campo teachers and staff with a luncheon composed of delicious foods and treats made by you! NEW: STEWARDSHIP SATURDAY: EXPLORING LAND AND SEA The Lafayette Library will be hosting a free event for high school students on April 29, from 1-3pm. This event is a great opportunity for students interested in wildlife, biology, and veterinary careers. More information here. Register here.


CAMPO SWAP Campo is hosting a clothing swap on March 4 from 12-4pm where we will be selling a variety of Campo shirts, pants, hoodies and more. The proceeds will go to the Campolindo Garden and help push Campo to become a more sustainable and environmentally friendly campus. 


MEF MARCH MADNESS TIP-OFF EVENT Canyon Club March 7 from 5-8pm. There will be live music and a raffle, and 10% of sales (including takeout!) will go to MEF.

CAMPO KEY CLUB CANNED FOOD DRIVE Campo Key Club will be collecting canned foods every Friday through March 17. Email campokeyclub@gmail.com with your name and address, place your bag of nonperishables next to your mailbox on Friday morning, and that afternoon someone will come by to pick up your donation. CHAPERONES NEEDED We need chaperones for the March Madness Dance, on Friday, March 24 from 7:15-9:15. Sign up with a friend and we can place you together. This is an easy and fun way to volunteer. Email Lindsay Webb-Peploe if you are interested! She will be grateful for life! 


VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS The Moraga Junior Women's Club is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt & Spring Festival on March 25. Volunteers are needed to help with games, activities, crafts, and more. Click here to sign up. Any questions, email Nicole Caldwell.


MEF MARCH MADNESS SHOP AND GIVE We have more local businesses than ever participating in MEF March Madness! We are partnering with Canyon Club, Penninis, Zoonie's, Comprehensive Wellness (laser treatments!), Amphora Oil & Vinegar, Apres Soleil (get your tan before the auction gala!), and Sports Basement. Check out all the details here on how you can support local businesses and give back to local public schools.


CAMPO'S NEW C.A.R.E. PROGRAM Does your child want to participate in a Campo activity (athletics, performing arts, student clubs, career/college activities, dances, other events, etc), but may not have the funds to do so? Campo’s C.A.R.E. (Campo Aid, Resources and Equity) program may be able to help. Contact Principal Mr. Alvarez, Ms. Knight, Mr. Rubey, Campo’s Counseling office, or click on this C.A.R.E. Info Form to confidentially request more information. EVERY Campo student should be able to experience all that Campo has to offer regardless of ability to pay.

ATHLETICS NEWS

NEW: CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAMPOLINDO BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM for winning the Division 2 NCS Championship with a win over Las Lomas. The team now moves forward to State Playoffs in Division 1, with a First Round match up against Archbishop Riordan on Tuesday, February 28 at 7pm at Archbishop Riordan High School. Tickets on GoFan, with ticket information announced soon.


CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAMPOLINDO WRESTLING TEAM! As the season comes to a close, 9 campo boys and 10 girls competed at NCS with senior Chase Yang placing 7th and sophomore Isabel Zabronsky placing 4th, Piper Lalli took 7th, and Camila Baxter took 8th. This was Campo’s highest NCS team finish in program history. Coach Phil Freeman was recognized as 2023 NCS honor coach. A special shout-out to all of the wrestlers and their coaches for a great season all around!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

NEW: REAL TALK WEBINAR--HBCU EDITION March 1 and 2 (4:00pm both nights). This is the last chance for students to connect on Real Talk with Black admissions reps this school year. This two-night event will give you an opportunity to compare colleges, hear advice on standing out during the admissions process, learn about special scholarships that can make college more affordable, and get questions answered directly from the experts. Register here.


DVC CAMPUS TOUR Are you a Senior interested in attending DVC in the Fall? Join Joan Batcheller of the College & Career Center for a campus tour on Monday, March 13, 9:45am - 12:00pm. Students will drive themselves and we’ll meet in front of the Student Services Building promptly at 9:45am. PARENT/GUARDIAN SURVEY The Contra Costa County of Education is preparing a grant application to secure tobacco use prevention education funding to continue and expand comprehensive school-based TUPE programs. You can help by filling out this survey


MINDFULNESS GROUP Starting in March, Wellness will be offering a student Mindfulness group. Let your students know about this opportunity and if they'd like to join they can sign-up here.

THIS WEEK! JUDITH HEUMANN: ACTIVIST & UPSTANDER TO SPEAK AT ORINDA BOOKS Tuesday, February 28, 6:00-7:30pm, 276 Village Square, Orinda. Join Facing History for an evening of community-building and conversation around "Being Heumann," the acclaimed memoir from disability rights activist Judith Heumann. We’ll learn about Ms. Heumann’s life, her landmark civil rights activism, and how we can all be upstanders and advocates in our communities today. Light appetizers and refreshments will be served. Register here.


CAMPO STUDENT LEADERS CO-CREATE MURAL TO HANG AT LP Campo student leaders and Los Perales Elementary school students have accomplished a beautiful artistic collaboration. The mural debuted at Campo this week and is up for everyone to see. Students will be presenting it to LP TODAY! The mural is the completion of LP's application to be designated a No Place for Hate school. 


REPAIRING THE WORLD: STORIES FROM THE TREE OF LIFE What if your community turned a blind eye to acts of aggression and did nothing to speak out against hate? Please join DEIB for this free film event depicting how the city of Pittsburg has come together to fight hate and extremism in the aftermath of the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue. The showing is at Del Valle Theater in Walnut Creek on Thursday, March 9 from 7-9pm. The movie runs 80 minutes, and there will be a Q&A session with director, Patrice O'Neill, after the film. Register for the event here.



AAPI STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE This year's Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project (APYLP) conference will be held both virtually and in-person. The three virtual conference days are on March 30, 31, and April 2; the one in-person conference day will be on Saturday, April 1, in Sacramento, CA. For more information visit here. PARENT EDUCATION ABOUT RACIAL CONSCIOUSNESS Next session is Tuesday, March 7 from 5:00-7:00pm. The Orinda School District is offering a Parent Education Event about Racial Consciousness with Dr. Lori Watson, founder and CEO of Race-Work. Sessions will be held on the following dates; all sessions will be held in the OUSD Boardroom.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A FIREFIGHTER? Consider the Firefighter Internship Program in conjunction with Cosumnes River College. For more information about the Firefighter Internship Program, including the interview process, cost estimates and more, refer to the Cosumnes River College Fire Technology Program Manual. You can also contact the Fire Technology Coordinator at haasr@crc.losrios.edu. Deadline: May 15.


SAVE THE DATE! Our Senior Parent Meeting is currently slated for March 21.   Please attend to learn more about the final Senior events celebrated at school. You will not want to miss this meeting when we discuss and distribute Senior Memory Collages that we ask you to create and delineate the events that take over the month of May. Look forward to the Senior Ball and Grad Night theme reveals in mid-March! The dates you can already put on the calendar: Senior Ball - May 6, Grad Night - May 26 immediately after Graduation.
